It sickens me to think what is going on. I'm only 21 (not exactly a boring old duffer) and I do things with lady friends. My point is if a young girl has a certain coloured band ripped off then she has to do whatever act corresponds to that coloured band...isn't that surely some sort of rape?

I was much happier when I thought it was something fairly innocent like just indicating how experienced you were. Now though I actually feel sick.

Yer, this doesn't really go on in most situations people just think they are a cool thing to wear.
Some drunk girls probably do it but on the other hand look at it this way.
Girl wears band knowingly meaning ripping it off must mean certain act will be performed. Pretty sure that counts as consent.
Most girls don't actually wear it with that intention though. You are crying about nothing pretty much.

This is another thing that has been seized upon in the press to provoke outrage/increased circulation.

At the end of the day, you'd have to be a pretty daft youth to knowingly put one on then actually go through with something if it was ripped off. Basically, if you agreed to that, you wouldn't need a band as some sort of symbol of permission to yourself; you'd be doing it regardless.

It's just a game, kids who'd use them would be rutting away at each other regardless. I don't think we're quite at the stage were the youth of today are being forced into some sort of sexual version of The Running Man.

They've been around since I was at (junior/infant) school, and I'm 21 now.

Back then they just meant you had to shag the person that gave it to you if it got broken off.

So basically meant pretty much the same thing.

Never heard of it actually happening though, it was just a bit of fun.

Haha, I don't know mate, I don't make the rules.

Wow, you're bringing back some incredibly immature memories of my school days now. I'm pretty sure that these were just a talking point when I was in school and nothing ever happened entirely because of a "shag band".

Also, that whole thing about consent mentioned already in this thread is true. Definitely no rape going on here. Just as of yet socially retarded youths not quite understanding sex yet (sex is what makes you a cool person didn't you know!?).
