Well I thought I would post up a picture of my current ride, for a 125 I love her, think she will be ideal for learning on and get me used to the size of a bigger bike without the power obviously.

Yup, V-Twin to, nice sound and good pull for a 125, went to Colchester from London last week and sat on 70 a lot of the way on the A12 and she was fine. Go's pretty rapid up till about 55 then slower acceleration to 70, felt like there was a little bit left but I was happy at 70 so diddn't push it any more. I just find her ideal for my height and so comfortable, easy to ride. If they made this bike in a 400 or 500 I would buy one once I passed my test, strange Honda go straight from a 125 to a 1000 in this model.

Nice bike, started off riding one of them myself. Very very easy to ride and great road presence. If your looking to keep that style of bike when you move onto bigger things Cagiva do a 500 & 600 canyon that arn't too dissimilar.

Transalp 600? Just a thought. It's not too different from the large varadero.

Nice looking bike!

I'm thinking of getting a Veradero as my first 125 bike, I've been told the exhaust/downpipes due to being made of mild steel (like most honda's I've seen) gets a bit messy during winter rides and could need replacing after a heavy winter. Is that true?

other than that, how is it for longer journeys? I'm planning to go to see some family who live about 130miles from me once I get it and wonder how the MPG and ride is for a journey that long, do you get many MPG during commutes to work/rides around?

Hi mate, a full tank commuting in central London gets me about 210 mile before hitting reserve, not as economical as a CG but it is a V Twin, down pipes can be protected with a belly pan which costs about £80 although I have not had a problem with mine which is a 2003 model, I just give the bike a good wash every week end. Its very comfy on a long ride although the Longest I have done so far is about 70 miles away, if I was doing that regular I would certainly fit a taller Givi screen to give more protection from the wind / rain but thats just my opinion. Its got quite a large tank 17.5 litre which is handy, will sit at 65 all day long and go's up to 74-75 although acceleration from 55 up to 70 ish is not as rapid as speed up to 55. I'm very happy with mine, I like the size, it gives presence on the road and visability is A1.
Good luck with your search for one.

210 mile a tank BEFORE you hit reserve?!... Holy F**K! I get about 50miles to a tank at the moment on my crappy 50cc.. I think it likes to drink!

I think the mods I'm going to be lining up are:

-Belly Pan
-Top Box (after 1-2months of riding to get used to the difference in riding position)
-Hand guards

Does the top box affect your riding at all?

I only have a 28L top box (big enough for helmet, gloves, lock and other small bits ) does not affect riding at all, riding position is nice and upright giving a good view ahead over the cars. Fair bit of space under the seat, has a lock cubby hole for specific size D Lock, I prefer my big old chain on the back and disk lock to the front as if I work late we often get scroats trying to nick bikes.

Have a look on this site, fair bit of owner information, bikes and bits for sale.
