I fail to operate properly, I mess simple things up, can't think straight and generally get more stressed by the above..... seems to be a lot lately! Although this week has started off well Laughing

Don't seem to have a way of reducing stress lately, it just builds up and builds up then it settles a bit then it gets worse again, I'm sure I'll explode soon Laughing

Try not to give a fuck about anything enough anymore to get massively stressed out about, but it happens sometimes and generally....

music, proper full size cup over ear headphones, and alcohol.

For the past couple of years if anything at work or in my home life has got me angry or depressed, I think about a friend of mine who's baby daughter died 2 days after being born as a seemingly perfectly healthy baby. Puts everything into perspective... Sad

I ask myself:

"What would colin1 do in this situation?"

That usually snaps me out of it pretty damn sharpish.

I try to walk away before I lose it.

But if I am getting wound up by someone else who is actually there, and I can't get away, I usually go very quiet, and when that happens, I *may* smash things. Usually by throwing them at something.

Or if alone, or calm but stressed in company (around whom I don't want to be seen to lose my rag so far as to be smashing things) ... then smoking a joint usually calms me down/chills me out.

I don't often get properly stressed out, if I do I'll usually have a glass of wine and watch some TV and take my mind off it. Usually works, if I get totoally down, like breaking up with the missus or similar, I usually go and do some ridiculous amount of exercise. Last time I felt like this I ran just over ten miles, depsite not having done much running in the previous few months, I was knackered Mr. Green

Cheers

Grim

As someone else has already said, just don't give a toss about things, sure it pisses off your family and the mrs because they don't see how you can possibly get through life not giving a toss, but it's worked for me and i rarely get stressed just thinking 'meh' to everything. Cool

Gym + iPod
Music of the heavy metal variety - or trance if you're trying to relax
or go out on the bike (not a good idea if you're REALLY stressed out Laughing)

Through the day if I'm stressed theres not much I can do but live with it and try and use the pent up energy from it to get stuff done.

On a night that's a different matter though a spliff and a few pink floyd albums always have the desired effect.

I have a bad temper Embarassed I either demand that someone baby sits while I go out on my bike and go sit on the beach or the resivior where I can chill out. I always forget the bread to feed the swans and if I catch nice pic that cheers me up.

if I can get out things are bad. I can broad and be pissed off for a long time. In that case its cleaning which dosnt reliseve stress but distract me so I dont kill. I have murderous thoughts cleaning as its not my mess I clean up. Evil or Very Mad

Read a book to take my mind off whatever is stressing me out. Or sleep. Or have an icecream.

Today reminded me what I tend to do when really stressed at work.... ENERGY DRINKS.. not sure what it is but if I'm really stressed I'll turn to energy drinks! Relentless Inferno is the best, tastes sooooooo good and calms me down a bit Laughing

You're a clever one aren't you? Rolling Eyes

The point is that whatever is causing the stress, think about how much worse your position could be and put things into perspective. If my friend can somehow find the strength to get through that then I'm sure people can cope with cheating spouses, overbearing bosses, tight deadlines at work etc.
