Anyone pre-ordered anything with play.com before? what's the deal?

Do they take payment now or on the release date?

pre-ordered Call of duty modern warfare 2 Mr. Green just wondering if I'm gonna get charged now or later..

I've had a few pre-orders with play and they take payment when they dispatch it, on release day.

They charge you when they send it - they'll also charge you the lower price if it drops in the meantime Thumbs Up

Do you ever get things early/ontime/late?

I've got Uncharted 2 on pre order with Play.com and MW2 on pre oder with Game, how likely is it that you get them on day of release?

Stuff that I have pre-ordered with Play I have either got on the day of release or in the case of a couple of CDs on the Saturday when they weren't due out till the Monday. Cool

Usually bang on time, occasionally a day early, rarely a day late. Nothing wider than that, in my experience.

I order all my games from GAME. They always come a day early apart from the games that are sometimes released on a Tuesday (like the Halo games) where they come on release day.

Not to mention I have about £50 in reward points. Laughing

Ive recently stopped using Play.com since they let me down on a pre-order a few months ago. I can't even remember what game it was but it didnt arrive until about 4 days after release date. A bit of checking showed they dispatched it from Jersey or wherever a day before release. So they get the thumbs down.

I had pre-ordered MW2 from them at £44.99 but Ive since swapped to Shopto.net for £42.99 - they are in England and will post things out next day delivery recorded. I think if you buy anything before 5.30 it will be posted out next day delivery too, which is fantastic in comparison to Play.

I would be sat here with a copy of FIFA10 if the crybaby postal people would get of their arses and do some work though. Gits.
