I was driving home today at about 6.30pm and the sun was setting nicely and then it dawned on me that it is the 1st October today. It doesn't even feel like autumn yet? Not that I am complaining, but I can't believe it is carnival weekend next weekend which signifies the run up to Christmas for most of the town. Surreal. The leaves have barely started falling off the trees.

I must say, I do love an "Indian summer".

Cold here last night. Does look like autumn only it is milder during the day I noticed. I like this time of the year, nicer days than summer was. A lot less rain anyway.

It was cold here last night too, its been quite hot during the day but over past couple of days its getting noticeably cooler..

the night before last was amazing, about 7pm it was almost dark but a nice sunset which made everything kind of surreal, it was like watching a bluray movie in cinema mode Laughing was kinda weird whilst driving along in almost darkness but with shimmering orange glow off the roads and parked cars Cool

I'm kinda looking forward to winter this year.

Yeah on the bike to work this morning its was starting to feel colder.. The airflow jacket has definitely been hung-up for the winter!! Sad

What's it like riding in the winter with frost on the ground?? Is it not worth thinking about or should I just go for it?

A picture from the trail ride I did with three others yesterday - it was like a summer's day Cool

This is a place called Heaven's Gate and yesterday was just why it's so named - perfect! Very Happy

https://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Tonkatoo_2008/th_DSC00758.jpg

Played in the fords on the way back for ages as it was so warm and there was so little water, none of them were even difficult as oppose to the impossible they become in the winter! Rolling Eyes

Was talking to another biker at work, and neither of can remember the last time we had to use our waterproofs........
Given that we both use bikes for the commute. It got us thinking when did it last rain.

Was nice and fresh the other morning, just what you need to wake you up on the way to work.....
And all the poor people in cars have started to moan its cold Laughing

Haven't noticed it feeling any colder yet but you can certainly tell its autumn. Rode in to work this morning and it was that windy, for quite a large stretch of the route it felt like I was in some sort of leaf storm.

It's the first weekend that I haven't seen loads of bikes parked at the transport cafe on the way either.

Autumn has been in the air for a few weeks now despite the warm week last week.

September has been one of the nicest months for years now. It used to be May.

It's been uncharacteristically warm here recently. Then October happened, one freezing day, one wet day and today was so windy my mum's fence came down.
I have got the 125 mot'd ready for commuting, and the 600 has his hot water bottle in the shed.

I was still too hot at work this week, in a similar way to mid july just without quite the humidity.

Thought the past week or so, I have noted as i've walked out the door in the morning, that it was nippy enough to make me not want to ride the bike to work.

Well, it's pissing it down at the moment, and the weather's been very up-and-down the past couple of days. It was glorious for a couple of weeks, though so I suppose I shouldn't complain. Meh.

Same here, noticed this over the last couple of weeks though. Has made me slightly wary of some roads and corners, mainly due to tyre heat and road grip. It just scares the poop out of me a little.

Back in my single days (which shall be referred to as those happy days Wink) best time was after the schools went back and arrange bike trip round Scotland. Good roads, usually ok weather and, this isn't to be underestimated, no midges Dance! Clapping
