Minted mushy with lashings of vinegar suits chips down to a tea.

Frozen petit pois are our staple ones as the wife retches with the above.

the best type of peas are ones in a different country, meaning that they're far enough away to not be a problem.

peas, like most vegetables, are completely wrong. they're not as much of a problem in small doses but you still have to remove as many as possible from your food.

"but vegetables are healthy" take a vitamin tablet then!

vegetables are immoral, some day the world will have come to its senses and stop eating things grown on plants or underground. Mr. Green

I have often wondered about Pease Pudding so I googled it... Here you go...

Some smartarse wrote:

Pease pudding, sometimes known as pease pottage or pease porridge, is a baked vegetable product, which mainly consists of split yellow or Carlin peas, water, salt, and spices, often cooked with a bacon or ham joint. (In Middle English, "Pease" was treated as a mass noun, similar to "oatmeal" and the singular "pea" and plural "peas" arose by back-formation.)

It is similar in texture to hummus and is light yellow in colour, with a mild taste. Pease pudding was traditionally produced in England, especially in the industrial North Eastern areas - although it is now widely available throughout the country, often in butcher's shops (due to the bacon connection). It is often served with ham/bacon and stottie cakes.
In Southern England it is usually served with faggotts.

Check out that last sentence again, I was apoplectic! Mr. Green

The Smartarse then wrote:

It is a traditional part of Jiggs dinner in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Pease pudding is featured in a nursery rhyme, Pease Porridge Hot.

In Beijing cuisine Wandouhuang (豌豆黄) is a sweetened and chilled pease pudding made with yellow split peas or shelled mung beans, sometimes flavored with sweet osmanthus blossoms and dates. A refined version of this snack is said to have been a favorite of Empress Dowager Cixi.

Now I know what Pease pudding is and I sooo have one of those laughter hangovers!

Mr. Green

Mushy peas from the chippy, no other form of pea, mushy peas from the supermarket or whatnot are going anywhere near me mouth.

Infact, you will find it to be a rare occasion for me to eat food off a plate that has/had peas on it Wink Laughing

Used in salt pots a dried pea will stop the salt sticking.
