Anyone got any tips on how to darken/restore the tyre walls?

That looks good for a chopper. I like it.

Try and use some 'Back to Black'/Tyre Wax/ Bumper Colour Restorer. Just make sure you don't get any on the tyre tread as it's pretty slippery stuff.

Tyre paint is better, and I'm not talking about the stuff in a pen. I'm talking about the stuff in a small tin. It's more permanent, and it looks better!

Great tip! Oh bugger, that means I have to paint all around the white text I just did. Ah well.
