Weird topic title i know, but wasn`t sure what else to put Confused

My bikes have always been used daily all through the year so i`ve never had to think about this before, but i`m buying a 2nd bike soon for commuting so my main ride will be used more as an occasional fun bike than an everyday tool from now on.
What i want to know is....how often do you have to ride a bike to keep it in good working order?how long will the battery stay charged if the bike`s left standing etc etc etc?

I reckon once i get my hack,my main ride will only come out once a week...maybe even once a fortnight.....would it still be good to go after 2 weeks standing idle?

I dont really want to set it up for long term storage coz that``ll just be aggro for me ....but if only using it once a fortnight is going to be bad for it in some way,i`d consider storing it for a few months then put it back on the road after winter.

Thanks for any replies

P.S...the bike lives in my kitchen, not outside. Laughing

My bike stands for longer than 2 weeks on many occasions, I don't do anything to it.

2 weeks is a very short period.

If I was leaving it for a few months, I'd pump up the tyres to about 40psi drain the float bowls and disconnect the battery.
