First post, just thought i'd post some photos of my '04 B1H.

All good apart from the right hand fork stanchion is pitted and has split the seal.

Opinions welcome on modifications Thumbs Up

Looks nice.

Suspension should be first on your list for it, as the stock shock is a bag of arse(Too hard a spring and too high gas pressure usually).

Sort the suspension and it stops the bike trying to kill you on bumpy roads at speed.

The forks aren't too bad, but benefit from a work over anyway.

I might upgrade my brakes first.
What are peoples thoughts on those all in one rear lights with the integrated indicators??

Nice bike, my wife has the same one. Rear shock is very hard, it'll never be perfect unless reworked/replaced but it's ok for the road imo, front end is good but needs setting up correctly.

Upgrading the brakes? they're amazing brakes even with standard hoses and utterly amazing with braided hoses. If they're rubbish then there's a problem, maybe crap pads or sticky pistons. I'm talking about the front btw, the rear is about as good as rubbing a small block of cheese against the disc.

Intergreated rear brake light/indicators look good but I dont think it'll pass an MOT so becareful.

I have the 03 Blue Cool
I love it.
Suspension bit hard but I deal with it.
Mods hmm Ive not done much but looking to get short levers - thats it lol.
Most bits are R&G
Most ive spent is putting twin underseat pipe conversion which had mix reactions but I thought it looked good Smile

Have some photos Cool They are a bitch to put on I might add.
Over $600 from US of A
I got them for a bargain on Ebay - I still have them and I might put back on.
I got the MotoGP pipe on right now - sounds awesome altho rather loud & will draw attention Razz

All the chrome parts are now black as with the slightest bit of rain it would go a 'corroded' affect.

was £130 from Fleebay

There are two on there (or was) was one for £130 (mine) other £250 with some graphics on. I didnt choose that as an extra £100 for decals seemed pointless.
Dont come round here tho, this is my hood Rolling Eyes Laughing

Enjoy if you buy - good can - very noisy to your ears at first Very Happy

If your looking to improve the brakes without spending too much, try getting the black nissin calipers from an 07 onwards model as well as a radial master cylinder from an 05 onwards model, they can be had off ebay for about £150.

Also, give these suspension settings a try Im sure you'll feel a welcome improvement, if not change them back in 5 mins:

Front preload - undo so the 8th ring is flush with the top (stock is at the 6th ring)

Front compression - 3 1/4 turns from fully in (stock is 2 turns)

Front rebound - 2 1/4 turns from fully in (stock is 2 turns)

Leave the rear preload ring as is, it should have 14mm of thread showing above the collar.

Rear compression - 5 turns from fully in (stock is 3 1/2 turns)

Rear rebound - 6 1/2 turns from fully in (stock is 4 1/4 turns)

Me and my 2 mates have B1Hs and we're all on these settings, also we've tried all sorts of tyres and if your into tanking it around on roads cause there are no tracks near by then go for Michelin pilot power/ 2cts they really suit this bike.

One web page I drooled over when I first got the bike, O if I had money to burn on a carbon fuel tank and tacho bracket:

https://www.oppracing.com/pricelists/Kawasaki/Kawasaki_ZX6R_US.htm

Let us know if you like the settings man Thumbs Up

I do

Last year was pretty bad for me.
The salt corroded the brakes -
So wash them down.
I almost paid the price when they seized on me whilst on the motorway. Breaks jammed, resulting in an emergency stop doing 60 with a car almost rear ending me Laughing

Technically they pass, as long as the indicators are on either side of the bike it's a pass.

I can't remember the term ( Keith knows ) but it's something like they are not "road legal" but that doesn't come into the MOT test iirc.

Anyway, I had one on my B1 for 4 years and had no problems what so ever.

One thing i think they should of done with the B1h is a black frame, looks so much better then silver.

Oh, & they're faster in green. Cool
