Hi lads, a few queries on insurance if I may. My dilema is I took out an ebike policy and got 1 year ncb in 8 months via their policy. Since cancelled and thats that. Looking to get another road bike now, does that ncb transfer to other companies?

If so, the above three companies come up cheap as chips compared to the others. Has anyone used them or have experiences whether it be good or bad?

I've used MCE for years but last year they played me up a bit and I had bad service from them. They wanted to charge me a LOT of money to add my MZ to the policy. A bike that is worth £300 tops.

Used MCE and Bikesure in the past with no problems, just make sure your last insurer gives you the evidence of no claims.

MCE are tossers, messed with me too. Sent me a certificate with completely the wrong bike, wrong value and other glaring errors. Phoned to sort it, and got hung up on twice by the miserable cow on the other end, so I wrote a letter telling them what I thought and to cancel the policy.

Not had proper dealings with falcon, but I rang for a quote, they said they'd ring me back, they didn't, so I rang them, then some woman told me the other one had gone home so no quote for me, no business for them.

motorcycle direct, choice quote and CIA have been the best ones for me so far over the past 9 odd years.

I'd add MCE put up my renewal one year despite it being a smaller bike, me being a year older and having a years more ncb, so i switched to falcon.

Falcon were also good at undercutting other quotes and managed £800 fully comp 4 years ncb on a zx12r at 20 Thumbs Up

I am with falcon bikes.

I know the guys there personally and they are only a 2 minutes drive from me so it made sense for me to go with them.

The guys there are all bikers themselves so it instilled even more faith in them for me.

The company is only about 2 years old and there are only 7 or 8 people working there which to me gives a more personal experience.

I dont think I would go elseware now tbh.

That said I thus far have never had to claim, whilst I am sure the service would be as normal (excellent) I cannot be certain.

I would suggest phoning Falcon and ask for Pinder the MD and see what he could do for you.

I hadn't heard of falcon bikes until this thread and my god they are cheap Shocked

certainly going to go with them next time round as they are currently £400 cheaper than my current insurer who were about £100 cheaper than every other company I tried.

Answer to your Q. It was start of this year so still valid, my only query was that it states 1 year ncb but it wasn't earned in a true 12 month year. Is this 'proper' ncb sort of thing? I've popped a request for NCB proof to send to insurers an see what their opinion is.
