CCM R30 -what are they like?

I saw a CCM R30 earlier. It was the first one I'd seen in a while and it got me wondering.

How do they handle?

I assume they've a lot of low-end grunt. What is the straight line acceleration like?

How comfortable are they on the open road?

What are they like to live with?

No idea. Did browse the CCM website and was quite surprised at some of there other retro models. The pics look like little money bikes until I see one on the commute. Sound quite nice too.

as much as i loved mine
the seat is hard there no good for more than about 50miles at a time unless youve got a steel arse
speed about 100mph flat out as for bottem end it would depend what your compareing it too
they wont rip your arms out the sockets
handleing is amazingly good tight twistys are a breeze
electrics arnt very good if it rains forget it your pushing..lol

Seats are hard but you get used to it fairly quickly, I've done a good few trips to lakes n back etc at around 350 miles in a day not a problem, and regularly do 100+ miles onit at a weekend.

Speed also as stated 100 - 110 flat out and tbh your not actually riding the bike then either lol your more like holding on for dear life because of the wind blast.

Electrics aint no where near as bad as people make out either tbh. Had mine a couple of years now and only once has anything stopped working and that was a loose connection behind the headlight (indicators stopped working). Obs some bikes have more issues than others but overall not the nightmare people pint them to be.


Mines pretty standard aswell just diff can and the tps throttle lift vlave stuff etc done, theres always the kent cam or the 710 kit to fit if you so wished.

Not had mine long enough to tell really, and not ridden it as much as I thought I would.

Seat is definately a joke, and the 70-80 mile tank range is definately the limit for one sitting. Electrics seem a bit funny, rev gauge works intermittantly and indicators go funny in the rain or after a wash, although this could be anything and not necessarily indicative of every CCM. I haven't been fussed to delve further.

It's fun in a silly kind of way, but definately not overly powerful. If youve ridden a 600 of any sort it will definately underwhelm in the power stakes.

Front wheel keen to lift if you pin it in first, with a tug/bounce in second. Brakes are rather good.

I always liked the mad as a box of frogs reputation from when they launched years ago, but the engine has changed from rotax to suzuki since then, and the suzuki is considered the softer option of the two.

Mine may also be running like crap, as many apparently are set up badly, and also fiddled badly by owners, I may get round to a dyno run when I have some money to burn.

For not a main bike, its a cool toy to have, maybe when I get round to riding it a bit more, I might have more to say.

There is no protection from anything (like any offroad/supermoto I guess), so its a horrible horrible thing to have to ride to work on a cold morning, half asleep. Apart from the fact that you will be /very/ awake by the time you get there.
