Right ... popped 250EXC 2-stroke motor ...

And it is proper poorly ...


Big end has gone and taken the top end with it - sadly the bore is badly scored too, so it needs re-welding and plating! ... the re-plating alone is £175 ....

I've had a quote from KTM and it is hefty ... Crying or Very sad

Anyone know of a 250 EXC motor up for grabs from a reliable source?

er ... I need to google KTM forum don't I!! Laughing


Does anyone know someone that can get KTM parts at trade? they are fecking expensive!! Shocked

Also know anywhere that does nikasil plating for the bore (supposedly it needs building up with weld too Crying or Very sad).

So you buy a new KTM motor... and then what? Get that rebuilt?

Just get yours rebuilt, that way you know its not going to go pop again.
