Carpel tunnel syndrome.

Ive been riding for 7 years, my cbr for 4 and recently I've noticed my thumb feels like it's in cramp on my right hand if I'm riding more than 10 min. This culmonates after about an hour and then I either get used to it or it dies down, I'm not sure.

Could this be an early symptom of caprel tunnel syndrome?

Slightly off topic, but if anyone gets RSI due to computer mouse use then these are excellent.

Expensive, but worth it.

No just footballs games using ps2/3 controllers, i swear the players run faster when pressing harder !! Confused

thats how ps3 controllers work. they buttons work better when pressed harder, its why in some car racing games on the ps3 you'll accelerate/brake quicker if you press harder.. I would say its part of the dual-shock 3 technology, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sure.

and Savage, I'd get to the doctors mate just to be sure. Could just be a trapped nerve. I had that for a while when I was younger and got hit by a car, hand used to go limp and spaz out for an hour or so every so often. tis fine now though Very Happy

Do you ride a lot? I find my hand and wrist muscles very quickly lose 'bike fitness' if I don't ride for a bit.

I thought I had CTS, but it turned out to be my neck, I had numbness in three fingers on each hand. I have in the past had numb thumb and again thought it might be CTS, but it turned out to be the gloves I was wearing, I have long thumbs ( lucky ladies Whistle ) and it was the thumb being trapped, it was only very slight but enough.
try the other things before the wrist op. Thumbs Up

CTS is a nerve problem, usually not physically linked to any physical activity or processes.
Do you only get it when riding or does it come at other times aswell? Like when your asleep? Is it painful or just numb? Do you have any predisposed nerve issues?

It is more likely to be "Wankers Cramp" from griping the bars and less than perfect peripheral circulation, which is usually nothing to worry about.
