Hi everyone,

Im staying overnight in london tomorrow at a hotel in the chiswick area. I intend to go down on the bike, but the hotel has no parking.

is there anywhere secure that i can leave my bike overnight? if anyone lives there and has a garage i would be willing to pay for garage use overnight....otherwise any cr parks with ground anchors etc would suffice for a night.....

there seems to be a pushbike bay nearby - is it legal to park in these in london?

Thanks,

Dale

There's a bike bay right outside the nick in the main high street - in fact a lot of people actually park under a roof alongside the police station. I go out for dinner there a lot, and usually go for a walk or whatever afterwards. My bike's been there until 0100-0200hrs without being so much as looked at funny.

I'd be quite happy to leave it locked there overnight - I guess it depends on how touchy you are about your pride and joy!

Thats awesome - being outside a police station and all! its only about 200m away from the hotel too, so thats good.

And if the bay is full, the police dont mind parking near the entrance?

Yea their fine with that. If someones parked there tho ask them to open the gates to their carpark and park in there. Or if its raining they might let you park it in the interview room. (If your lucky)

The bay is on the corner of the High Street and Linden Gardens, opposite Bond St.

If that's full (or even if it isn't) people just sling their bikes at the side of the police station (on Linden Gardens) which is under the overhanging first floor. That's where I put mine to keep it dry - I first assumed it was for plod bikes only, but when I asked someone else who was parking up he said all the local riders park there. He certainly wasn't Job - and as I don't work in Chiswick they don't know I am either, but still don't give me any hassle. You'll be fine Smile

You're on your own there fella, Little Miss doesn't drink so I've not really tried many of them. There's quite a few along the same parade as the nick - I've been in a couple and they seemed ok. It's a reasonable area so the clientèle are mostly fairly well-to-do.

The only two bikes I've ever had nicked were parked opposite a police station Sad
