ok just a random one here but basically i bought my bike on rougthlly 4500 m and the store did the 5k service but didn't change the valves or something like that ad sed id have to have them done at 7500 service witch i have to have 1000 early but im currently on 8500 and i kknow theres another one comeing up at 10000 so should i just wait till the 10000 one or should i do it now ?

Service intervals can affect a bikes warranty if it`s got one and you dont follow the rules.... but if it`s not i`d just wait and do a service at 10k.

How old`s the bike?

well its an 07 and the manufac warrenty ran out bout june july time and honda gave me additional warrent untill feb next year so im guessin its screwed for the warrenty

Not necassarily.
Service intervals aren`t always just about total mileage....sometimes you can use age too.
For example...in my service book/manual for the ape it says "every 12500 miles OR every 12months for valve clearance checks".
Other checks have different intervals too like "every 6000miles Or every 12 months for brake disc checks".

Not sure what bike you`ve got but if it had a full service at 5k it doesn`t need one again at 6000 or 7500 or 8500 really.The next one due should be in relation to the overall mileage since the last check...or the time elapsed since the last check.See what it says in the manual and stick to the info it gives.
Forget the dealer...sounds like he`s just trying to con money out of you for a job that doesnt need doing.I`m no expert on mechanics but i`ve nver known of a modern bike that needed the valves checking or changing at under 10k miles.

Notice the manual always stipulates the mileage first. Then the amount of time.

It's for people who don't use their bikes very often, not those who cover lots of miles in a short time period.

i.e.:

If you haven't completed 12,500 miles in 12 months, we recommend you service this part of the bike.

Not:

It's only been 9 months, but you've covered 20,000 miles in that time period. By 12 months time, you would have covered 25,000 miles then, so best wait til then, even though you ought to have done the service at 12,500 miles.

^^^True.....but i already said that in the rest of my reply (the bits you didn`t quote )

I`m gonna wait till i know what bike he`s on before i say anymore coz i don`t believe his bike needs servicing every 2500 miles and valves doing aswell at those intervals.
(unless it`s taking him over 12 months to do 2500 miles Question )

I seem to recall the service intervals for my XR125's valve clearances are every 6000 miles or so. Which is every other minor service, according to the manual. Adjusting them did make a difference to performance and starting once I'd checked and adjusted them, although I believe that the CBR's engine is somewhat different.

Check your manual and see what that says....i dunno the intervals for a cbr125 but i bet it`s a lot less than a 600 or a litre.(every 2500 seems extreme though)
Is your bike running right?any weird noises or loss of performance?do you rag the arse of it all the time?do you plan on keeping the bike a long time?

If you`ve got the money spare it wont hurt to have the service and valve check done now but i wouldn`t say the valve check`s essential.
Suppose it depends how bothered you are about a warranty that`s gonna expire in feb anyway Question

umm yes i rag it alot and iv got it for another 22 months i genrally do 60-70 whereever i go and 80-85 onn a1 normally so also it smells rich ans i dont really let it warm up very often bad i kno i should as it runs nicer when i let it warm first
