To hack it or not?

A simple poll to get opinions and good advice on this winter.

I have a W reg ZX9R with 22,000 miles on the clock.
It's in pretty good condition for the year and has served me very well throughout the summer.

It is now in need of expensive bits, totalling £500, and I am wondering whether I should fork out now, and then run the bike through winter?
Or should I store it and spend the £500 on a winter hack, with a view for selling it early in the new year and then using the money from the sale on the bits for ZX9R.

Opinions and suggestions welcomed.

Get the ZX9-R sorted out and use it through the winter IMO. Personally, I couldn't be bothered buying / selling another bike just for the winter but that's just me. Besides, the ZX9R will be much more fun than any £500 "hack"

Not sure which way this winter`s going to go weather wise but on the assumption that it``ll be "typical british"...i`d store it and buy a hack.

And tyres.. depends what you get.. but that was a quick search, could probably get cheaper

It`s not a hard decision as far as i`m concerned.

Given that over the last few years the number of days when it is really unsafe to ride due to ice or snow can be counted on one hand....

I'd get a trail type bike to use over the next few months and do the big bike up at the same time.
You will be able to do it bit by bit with the money saved on running expenses.

Then keep both bikes

Did you check the links I put up?

£180 for the Discs and C&S (could probably try knock the price down abit aswell or get free postage or something)

And how much do corsa 3's cost? £200 for both front and rear?

Sounds like you want a winter bike

Try to get the new bits for £300-£400 and spend the rest on a winter hack
