Yeah he promotes all the right messages, tolerance, equality and open sharing (especially if you have oil!).

I guess it's a vote of confidence more than anything.

They're trying to promote his efforts (be they good or bad) to sort the Middle East out....

He is not trying to sort the middle east out. He is trying to maintain the smoke screen, covering the real reason for intervention.... OIL!

There have been some lucrative oil finds off the coast of Ghana recently... Watch that space!

It's no more preposterous than Al (the goracle) Gore winning the 2007 one.

What is strange is that Obama only took office less than two weeks before the nominations deadline in february and thats hardly enough time to make your mark on the world stage. Someone must have either had a lot of foresight or he was rigged to win from the start.

Of course they exist and aren't they a very handy tool to have at your disposal. Managed to cause loads of trouble for the russians and were a perfect scapegoat for invasion.

Yes of course they exist but thier involvement came about as a response to the dirty westerners helping the Kuwaitis during the first gulf war, you know the one where Saddam wanted to assess his sovereignty over some one else.

Thus lead to the 10 year sanctions, which further annoyed the fundamentalists culminating with an al-qaeda attack of the twin towers.

Then came the American refusal to lift the 10 year sanctions, you know after 10 years, so Saddam said no more oil for you. The Americans then invaded Iraq and the rest as they say is history.. Perhaps a history a stupid ignorant CUNT like you may well understand.

As an ex-serviceman having involvement in BOTH of these conflicts I clearly have a slightly better appraisal of the situation than you.

YOU shut the fuck up, TWAT!

Back to the original subject, according to the Nobel website itself, nominations for the 2009 peace proze were closed in February, a matter of weeks after Obama was voted in. Now, either someone was conculting the crystal ball or something fishy is going on. The voting takes place in September and October but people can only vote for those who were nominated Neutral

Cheers

No mystery at all, Obama had plenty of donations for his campaign with which to line someone else's skyrocket nicely enough to have his name pencilled in at the top of the list.

Bribery is what makes the world go round after all. I think it's quaint how it's convieniently come about as the support for Obama is waning somewhat since he's actually done more or less fuck all since he got elected. A nod from the europeans saying "Yes sir, you are indeed doing a great job" makes the yanks think "wait........what?" and whaddya know King Obama reigns again, allowing him to say the word "Change" whilst actually doing "Fuck all" for at least another 6 months until they figure out which one of their own buildings they want to become victim to a terrorist plot next.

Compensation, I expect. He was probably only a pie-gargling RLC REMF anyway. Laughing

He hasn't been in Office long enough to truly deserve it in my opinion. He's made all the plans to do the right thing, just not really put into action. From what I can see, not much has changed from Bush's legacy.

Nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize where made on the 1st February. At that point he'd been in office for all of 2 weeks.

I'm sure there's nothing even slightly questionable about how or why he managed to win it. Rolling Eyes

Its simple isn't it? Bush was so disastrous for world peace, that he won it merely for ousting the Republican party from power.

Surely thats enough to win it? Smile

Similarly, I'm sure David Cameron will win the Nobel peace prize for charisma. Not because he has a lot of it, but that Gordon Brown is so utterly devoid of it! Laughing
