Following on from this thread,

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=184434

In my fucking about to get the bike running, I put the fuel switch to reserve. (Give me a break I haven't used a fuel tap in nearly 2 years)

Que me running out on the A13 with nowhere to pull over. I shook the tank and it was bone dry, I had been stopped maybe a minute and this big BMW pulls up covered with boxes.

The guy got off asked if I was alright and everything I explained I had ran out of petrol. He took of the box on the back seat and left it with my bike he took me too his house picked up a jerry can took me to a petrol station then back to the bike. In total I was delayed maybe 20minutes on my journey!

I offered to fill his tank too, he would accept then apologised for taking me to the expensive petrol station Laughing

Ivan is my hero today Thumbs Up

Bikers helping bikers, that's what we like to hear Thumbs Up

I've thought seriously before about getting one of those one litre Nalgene indestructible water bottles and filling it with petrol so I can keep it in my backpack as a reserve reserve fuel for my long journeys. If I ever came off though I guess that indestructible bit would be put to the test Confused
