Think about it ... it makes a whole lot of sense ...

We have to pay tax on other luxuries/life choices like bikes and cars ... why not kids? They are a life choice after-all!! Wink


Think of the problems it would solve too .... no more 16yr olds and/or doley losers getting up the duff for an easy life ... (the gov really need to stop paying people to have kids Rolling Eyes) ... this also has the upside of increasing the intelligence of the parents, consequently the offspring!!!!

Reduction in population ...

Reduction in pollution ...

Potentially a reduction in 'other' taxes (well at least a lesser increase).

Only people that really want kids have kids, so hopefully reduce the number of parents that abuse their kids ....



The more I think of it the more I think it makes sense ... the question is HOW much should we tax them?!!? Thinking

I deffo think that there should be a massive tax hike for people having >2!!

Indeed, and problem is where cost of living is increasing, more and more 'couples' BOTH work, meaning the skewing of the newborns being the doleys ... sadly with such a poor 'nurture' there is a good chance that the larger majority of these offspring will come to nothing either ... so it is all just more and more of a national BURDEN ... not making workers (therefore could be seen as national investment) ...


Taxing kids, actually skews it back towards the contributers/earners!!! ...

It really does make a lot of sense!! Thumbs Up

Although a good idea, that breaks some basic 'human rights' ... so it wouldn't fly ... however, taxing it means people can still have kids ... they just need to pay for it ... all above board here my man!! Smile

China have been doing something similar for years but wishing they hadn`t now and are looking at changing it.
Initially it worked in their favour but it`s backfired on them now coz it`s adversely affecting their economy and country as a whole.

India have just put forward a proposal to tax people on babies too....hope that doesn`t get approved coz the country is outraged by it and it`ll probably drive even more of them over here.
Dont quite know why they`re moaning about it though....indian famillies are fuckin massive anyway..there`s always about 20 people living in one house all under one surname.Why do they need to get any bigger? Laughing Rolling Eyes

I`d like to see it happen in the uk though tbh,even if just for the next 10- 20 years.If we look at china as the example....it worked for them at the beginning so it should give the same results here.

This country has too many unfit parents with kids already and the next generation they`re introducing wont be any better than they are....so nip it in the bud now before the slope gets any slippier Wink

Tax them? They should. Better still scrap child benefits and family tax credits (or whatever it's called now). Can't afford to feed it? Should have thought of that sooner. Get the f*ckers to stinkwheel for some 'blue juice'. The amount of lads I've worked with that are rubbing their hands together because of the family tax credits coming in, grips my shit. Evil or Very Mad

Not sure they regret it. Think they are quite happy about having a population far smaller than it would otherwise be. They still have plenty to do what they want economically.

Chinas 1 baby policy still allows more than 1 but the fines/charges for a 2nd or 3rd are huge (sort of like a tax)....which is why most stick to the rules over there Wink

I see what you`re saying though....you want to implement a "NO baby" policy unless you`re prepared to pay a tax for each one you have....even if it`s just 1 baby.
I like the idea of financial contraception. Thumbs Up Very Happy

I think the two basic problems are the backstreet killings of female babies and the now male biased population (causing other problems) ....

They have done minor changes to it (and it only applies to a minority of the population anyway), but there are claims both ways as to success.

Their current rate is something like 1.7 births per woman.

You can't just breed more people to support and ageing population, as you just land up with more old people a bit later on. Self defeating. Like screwing in aid of chastity Wink

Kids are a tax in their own right, you may think you're paying for someone else's but I assure you they cost the parents a whole lot more.

And as a point of principle a proportion of today's children will be the teachers, doctors, nurses, and fulfil other roles that will benefit the population in general in the future.

Having said that, the population does indeed need some control and restraint, but as lovers of a free society I'm sure you all believe it's the right of the individual to know when to stop, or not to start. Mr. Green

Absolutely and I think people underestimate how huge a responsibility it is to bring another human being into this world and equip them for life.

Parenting shouldn't stop at conception, but sadly for a proportion of society it clearly does.

I agree but you need to say that to Wen Jiabao not me Very Happy
China just needs to find a balance to it`s birth/population rate i reckon .....but it`s going to be a tricky issue for them to figure out.

No. No karma in paying taxes for people's sprogs.
You know when the newspapers say "Man in intensive care after attack by yobs." Well, if he was a father it would say something like "Father of 2 in intensive....etc".
So whenever you just see "Man..." in the headlines, remember that's a guy who pays taxes to clothe and feed some little ape who wasn't properly raised by it's parents, and thats the karma he gets in return.

Cars and bikes are fun! Kids are like limpet mines.

Ive been surrounded by peoples offspring all day. there are some good and some bad but at the end of the day some people are just twats that will perpetuate that for the future generations to come.

I dont object to decent people with a sense of morality having children, but theres too many scumbags with kids who are rapidly following in their footsteps.

I dont think they should be taxed, I do think you should have to pass an interview to be able to have one. Failure obviously would lead to chemical sterilisation in the best interests of everyone else Wink
