We've always had the trousers tucked in or out of boots, even the sleeves in or out of the gloves debates but what for fleeces or jumpers?

What the hell is the point of a fleece over leathers? Its never really a decent sweater or hoody and looks pants in my eyes. When a little nippy I obviously have an extra layer under my leathers, fair enough it does make me look a little chunkier but at least its protected from the elements.

C'mon you outy's why do you do it?

Perforated leathers are a wonderful thing in the summer.

Hi

Do use a fleece over textiles occasionally. It does help a bit, but is pretty much a last resort when you can't fit anything else on under the textiles.

All the best

I wear a thin waterproof layer UNDER my leather jacket if it's raining. Jacket gets wet, I don't.

There is a girl kicking around Hampshire, who wears a hoodie over her kit, but hers says CHIXTER on the back, thus letting everyone know she's a bird who rides a nice bike. Smile

Hoodies OVER my one piece in winter? Why? Because I'm too stubborn to get gore tex textiles for winter, besides I prefer the safety of leathers. My layering system goes like this when I'm wearing winter leathers:

EDZ base layer + thermal vest + T shirt + Cold Killers + kidney belt. I simply don't have any space under my leathers for anything more. Alpiestars leathers have vented shoulders so it does benefit having a XL hoodie over it.

Its definetly a sportsbike riders thing round here. Younger sportsbike riders in particular from what ive seen.
I think iv seen pics on here of people wearing hoodies over leathers, with various things written on there backs. Im not sure the reason why?
I often pass a chap on an r6 who wears a tshirt over his one piece???? WTF?

Surely this is a very fast way of removing a layer should the rider get too hot?

We are talking about winter riding. How many sportsbikes can take a rolled up hoody under the seat?

Putting a T-shirt over perforrated leathers seems to a better job than having the shirt inside. I always ride with a base layer in either case however.

I've got a pair of EDZ trousers come long Johns and they do a lovely job and wouldn't mind a T shirt version now. In the summer I did go without anything under the one piece and was sticky as hell. A base layer certainly helps with comfort come rain or shine.

Not where I ride and at the speed I ride. I do most of my riding up in the Highlands so plenty of airflow and no sitting in traffic.

It's a kind of neoprene smock thing worn with gore-tex overtrousers. The air can get up under it keeping me fresh and odour free.

I've been faaar too hot riding in the winter before in my core. Winter for me is about two things, my fingers and toes.

I'm not little Sad I just enjoy warm circulation to my extremities. You're right though that if wearing say just jeans in winter time my thighs will basically go numb immediately.

This thread is about hoodies though Razz generally I wear a jumper or something thermal beneath my protective gear, but on top isn't sounding like such a bad idea for my main torso area.

I wear hoodys over my leathers as well as a tshirt, jumper and combats underneath usually.

Me an my bro out early morning yesterday at 2am riding around with white hoodys on (slightly chav but it's fooking freezing) we were riding side by side down some country lanes and there's a jeep infront of us. He kept indicating as if to turn but there were no side streets. I said to my brother, he thinks we're coppers I think. All he must of been able to see was two people with white tops on riding bikes behind him. He eventually indicated and pulled over to a stop, so I thought I'd humour him and pulled up next to him, already had his window down and said, "Lisence and registration!" to which he looked at me blankly and replied, "You scared the shit out of me then, thought you were the plod" haha.

Confused I've honestly never had a problem... with the girls or the icy wind penetrating that far.

Without sounding a cock, most drivers indicate when signalling to bikers (mainly) that they are letting them past. On straights with no junctions this is almost always the case. The driver will pull closer to the curb an indicate either left or right, when they know/can see it's clear, obviously you do your own observations to comfirm whether or not to overtake or not.

I've found this to be the case, but only ever overtake when i see it's safe i don't take the drivers word for it.
