https://uk.oneworld.net/article/view/163799/1/

Saw a 'Act on C02' advert this morning as part of a news item. They think we are uneducated rather than massively sceptical...

Another of those horrible middle-aged menopausal women that smiles all the time was speaking lots of facts that us thick twats of course don't know... we should turn our lights off if we are not using them, turn off our telly rather than on stand-by over night... ohhh, you'll be telling me that smoking causes cancer and that you can't catch the AIDS from a toilet seat next.

If EVERYONE played ball, then so would I. But all this shit is leading us to the rich having an unchanged lifestyle whilst the poor go without to balance the C02 emissions.

Why the fuck should the city's be lit up like fucking beacons through the night... and I'm being told to use 40w bulbs? Mmm, this is the problem, love. One rule for the money, one for the slaves.

If the shit hits the fan, I am positive that humans will adapt and survive, a world might even emerge that negates the need for a ruling political class... gah, I'm getting myself into a rant.

The point was FUCK YOU ACT ON C02.

Although I remember this one... loads of full colour posters at work from the Carbon Commision or some such, telling us to turn off lights... how much energy was used in the design, production and distribution of those worthless bits of shiney paper?

I have been saving the word CUNT as my blobs are dissappearing rapidly, but... this mob 'in charge' cause all the fucking problems in the world and the people pay. CUNTY CUNT CUNTS, CUNTS. Useless, irresponsible, vandalising, greedy, two-faced, forked tongue cunts.

I was going to watch it on the news this morning, but got bored waiting for it to come on, so couldn't be arsed.

I could have guessed it was going to be patronising as hell.

Isn't it aimed at teaching kids more than adults?

This made me smile:

- Respondents cited flooding as one of the most common effects of climate change that will happen in the UK (69%)

Nothing to do with building houses on flood plains then? Laughing

If it's really happening why was it changed from "Global Warming" to "Climate change"? Razz

As a (slight) aside, my local council have decided to turn off 1 in 3 lamposts, to try and recoup some of their overspend. I'm just waiting for the bleeding hearts to start throwing rape figures about in opposition.

It's fairly transparent... they are dressing it up as a father reading a grim story to his daughter at bed time. Reality is they think we are as thick as fuck and have resorted to telling us about the horrors of emissions as if they are talking to babies.

"Talk to them like 3 year olds and maybe the message will get through".

They think we are that thick we won't realise we are being treated and thought of as uneducated twats, which is even worse.

Cut your emissions peasants, that we may build Terminal 6 for the greater glory of global capitalism and all who sail in her Middle Finger

We'd save a hell of a lot more CO2 if they just shut the hell up.

It's all our fault, anything that happens will be our fault, whether we turn the porch light off or not, don't waste your time. 'Climate Change' is nothing to do with us and if it was they couldn't possibly prove it, most people know that but that doesn't matter. It's all about control, ignore it and keep ignoring it, they'll introduce more fines and taxes, there's nothing you can do about it so why fret. They admit it themselves, even if we do start turning off our washing machines to 5 degrees and bathing in cold dishwater it won't actually make any difference it's just the first step, the next will be asking you to do even more.

As long as the planet see's out the next 60 years I dont care.

No kids for me so no need to worry about the long term future. Laughing

So for now my 6L car engine can burn as much of my share of the oil reserves up as possible. I'll use as much russian gas as we can get our hands on to run our central heating while I leave my windows open etc etc etc.

After all, I pay for the privalage.

Cutting down domestic emissions in the UK when compared to industrial emissions in China et al is next to worthless.

Deal with the major problems before getting on my case because I won't fit ugly-ass energy efficient dim-as-fuck light bulbs.

The reason I turn lights off and don't leave the TV on standby is because it cost me money...and no other reason.

The 'climate change' lobby can just fuck off. I'm going to go and burn some petrol and bollocks to the size of my 'carbon footprint'.

When I saw this ''educational advert'' beginning on screen I thought oh look, there's a man telling a young child a fairy story. I wasn't wrong. That's exactly what we all heard, a fairy story. At least the stories my mum used to tell me about the three bears and little red riding hood etc. were believable.

You know what the horrible, disgusting truth is though?

We cant do anything about it.

Most people ARE stupid enough to believe this bullshit.

The goverment is like a cancer wrapped around half of the countries/worlds proverbial liver - yeah, we'd perhaps function (poorly) without it if it was removed, but we'd function on a basic level.

However, keeping it intact keeps us weak, jaundiced and disgustingly pathetic.

The hopelessness of a situation reminds me of a crude joke used on the new Scrubs.

"You know, its ironic that they call it Cancer, because there's nothing that we CAN do, about it."

Thumbs Down

lol, personally i'll worry about climate change when the government stop wasting electric, paper, petrol, etc on sending me junk letters.

Also, how about building all new houses with solar panels and wind turbines... the amount of stuff that could be done with all that extra tax. No, lets buy ourselves a f.cking duck house!

oh well, wonder how many kittens have choked on my '92, 2 litre sports cars engine and no catalytic converter Twisted Evil

I reckon the whole climate change debate isn't focusing on the right issues. They thought the whole end of the world bollocks would give them a advantage.

Personally I think we should cut down the CO2 and CO (Carbon monoxide) down cause the amount of respiratory diseases caused by them. I don't care if you smoke, drink or feck sheep, as long as you don't do the latter near me and I couldn't give a shite.

Erm, Co2 does not cause respiratory disease, in large volumes it's toxic like just about any gas however there are not large enough volumes in the atmosphere. Carbon monoxide also does not cause respiratory disease, it causes suffocation when exposed to it in a confined space due to preventing the blood from carrying oxygen, the atmosphere is not a confined space.

It's nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides that are harmful, and that's what catalystic converters were brought in to remove. Most new cars with cat converters don't leave any. It's a different issue anyway, that's smog, city pollution, it's not a global issue and is worse in cities with lower technology due to less emission cleaning equipment so therefore they can't do much about it, but you don't live in those cities so you'll be just fine.

OK I stand corrected, I thought carbon monoxide was part of what can cause respiratory failure? So I assumed it damages the organs in other ways, saying that I know its probably bollocks, so never mind.

The only problem with the last part, is that these cities are where many of the jobs are, and even if you don't live there commuting in and around them, your likely to inhale some fumes, reason I try and avoid them like the plague.

It causes problems by being more reactive with red blood cells than carbon dioxide or oxygen. Basically bonds to the red blood cells so that they can no longer carry oxygen round the body. Get enough in a short enough space of time and you will die, but not really a cumulative issue.

Depends what fumes you are worried about. For example pretty much the most polluted part of London is the electric powered underground. Build up of particles from the brakes, which has nowhere to easily escape to.

CO emissions are tiny. CO2 is (ignoring global warming claims) basically irrelevant. You generate plenty of it yourself just by breathing.

All the best

I doubt that's possible. Rumors were floating about even if we didn't increase emissions the present day, then the arctic would still melt at the apparent rate its melting at. Even though ......

"To confuse the issue even further, last month Mojib Latif, a member of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) says that we may indeed be in a period of cooling worldwide temperatures that could last another 10-20 years."

Quality.

Do you believe everything you read? Blimey, of course.

A sighting of a polarbear floating past my house on a cardboard box, at least it would save on the airfares having to fly up to Arctic circle to see them Smile and therefore that would save huge amounts of CO2 being released by an aircraft, many times more than any bike Thumbs Up

Street lights have been turned off in a couple of districts here in Essex for the last couple of years, which has resulted in a reduction of night time crime in those areas... despite what the opposition threw out about rising crime, blah blah blah! The truth is criminals love a well lit area because they can hide in shadows and see what they are doing, not to mention it takes the human eye 20 or so minutes to adapt to darkness! Apparently early in the new year Essex Council will decide whether to roll this out across the rest of the county... I hope they do roll it out, because aside from the obvious cost savings it will make, I love seeing the stars at night!!!
