Btw, is your xr kick only? I find mine takes 15-20 kicks to get started in the morning. Is there a special technique to get it started?

20 kicks!!, ive never owned an xr but 20 kicks doesnt sound right.

when its warm does it start in just 1 or 2?

make sure you are deffinatly switching your choke on and make sure the choke jet isnt blocked, if that doesnt help i really cant help you sorry.

Sorry for the hijack!

Well not every morning is the same, but seems to be over 10 kicks easy. Once it's warm it starts easier.

How do I check the choke jet?

I asked if your bike was kick only. I then stated an estimate of how many kicks it sometimes takes to start my xlr. I then asked if there was a special technique to starting it. It being the xlr. You assumed the question was directed at you. I was wondering if there was a specific technique to starting the xr/xlr. I would then try said technique on my xlr in the morning. So, it sEAms that I never compAIred them.

well anyway yes there is a technique to starting an xr600 but i think on the 250 same as a 125 its just kick and go as theres no where near as much compression on the 250
