just got a new bike. Its a mulhacen derbi 125 2009 in black. Spoked wheels. Im chuffed and riding around all happy. Nodding to passing bikes. But then iget dishearted when bigger bike riders turn thier helmets at me cus i have a smaller bike with no fairing. They used to nod at me all the time when i had my derbi gpr. Maybe cus it looked like a racer. Do i not enjoy riding on 2 wheels taking the same risks as they do to a certain extent?

Got ignored by 2 miserable pricks today when I took the 125 to uni. One on an old Bonneville, and some dude on a generic sports bike that I didn't really look at as I was concentrating on traffic. Bet sports-fag would've nodded had I been on the triumph (though I probably would've been there 10 minutes earlier ) but I suspect old man pisspot lid was a typical elitist.
Conversely I had some mentalist on a bandit going the other way on the inside lane of his side of the road, me on the inside lane of mine waving like a raving looney as if he required my attention. Good lad.

I find it strange people only remember not being nodded, I've usually forgotten people like that as quick as they've gone past. There's been the odd time that a nod from a strange weirdo on an old cb350s that's cheered up a shitty winter ride home.

125's are amazing for how they are used and serve their purpose so well. I was a bit pissed off when I first read the above quote... but now I can't quite be bothered with a long rant.

I love the fact that I can reliably sit at 60MPH minimum at 100MPG all day every day. Having to be skilled enough to ride them to the limit to get normal road performance out of them is the biggest adventure for me.... and 60MPH is definitely fast enough to still kill yourself in the majority of country road corners if still feel so inclined.

Just how is 100MPG a waste of money?

A nice 125 is probably all that some people want , most mornings im doing flat out 60mph down the east lancs and on the nsl roads to work and get spanked everytime by a lad on a yzf r1, he flys by me, he says he has had 90 out of it. now for some that might be all they want a quick blast on a fast good looking 125 to and from work, i always feel good after a quick (and i use that term loosley) ride home, its a stress reliever. if i could easily afford 3k i would prolly have one too, i wouldnt trust myself on a 600 right after a das with no experience, ive had 7 months exp now and will do a winter and then do the test,but even then i have my eye on the kwak 250 ninja for an intermidiate bike as i apparantly come under the high death age group.
