I've just caved and ordered a copy from ShopTo. Though it doesn't sound perfect I'm feeling all nostalgic about the first game and on the whole the reviews are fairly positive.

You had a play with it yet N30?

Edit: Christ! Less than 10 minutes after ordering it I got an email saying the game's been despatched.

I've never played a flashpoint, So i didn't realise how technical it was going to be. By god the geeks will have a field day over this. took me about 10 clicks of the quick command just to launch a bloody airstrike.

I'll have another go later, but it's nothing like COD which I was expecting.

I was playing all last night and I quite liked it, a lot more...urm geeky is the word I think, than COD but it's still pretty good. The graphics are nice and the online play is average. Then again I compare every FPS online to COD4 so they all fail in comparision.

Should keep me busy till MW2 gets leaked

Yeh I flash them, RROD = no.

flashing around 30 consoles a week at the moment, people are buying them ready for Cod in november I think.

You're right about the distance thing, your automated team mates sit there firing away at things I can't even pick out with my scope, even on a 50 inch tv set at 1080p

I,ve been looking forward to OFP2 after Arma II was a load of buggy crap,

though queens gambit for Arma I was quite good, pulled off some bloody good battles in that one best mission was the convoy ambush at the end.

My copy arrived earlier and I've had a quick go on it. First impressions are really good. There's not really a tutorial but so long as you read the controls and don't rush it seems fairly easy to get to grips with. The only gripe so far is that you can't go up a level when you make the wrong selection on the squad commands, so you wind up having to start from scratch, which is a good way of getting shot if you're in a hurry. Can't wait to get stuck into it now.

Picked up my copy saturday afternoon, got round to playing it yesterday but there is one smaller (but rather major ) problem.......I have no sound

Got sound when PS menu is loading up, sound when playing blu-rays and all my other games just not on OpFlashpoint. Tried it with my telly speakers and surround sound and neither work.

Any ideas before i resort to smashing things up with a hammer?

you running sound over optical 5.1 or something?

change to HDMI and it should work, I get that with some demo's

Got everything running HDMI to the telly and running optical from telly to the surround sound thingy me bob.

Thing i can't understand is, it doesn't even work with the TV speakers

Thought it was awful, makes a good coaster though. Graphics are nowhere near as good as those screens, like a poor resolution PC game rather than that!

Game play is too FPS its like a COD clone not a soilder simulator, runing about shooting from the hip killing like rambo no tactics at all

I'm loving it too. Not as tricky as the original, but I never got too far with that so this one's about perfect for me.

I've got as far as the fuel depot mission so far. After 5 or 6 tries and getting nowhere I left my squad hiding in the woods and took the uber stealthy approach and somehow managed to get all the way in and blow up the generator before raising the alarm and legging it back to the heli. The AI's not great but it's workable. I haven't tried MP at all yet but will have a bash at that once I've completed the single player missions.
