VFR800 not in dealers?

Hi all, I have been looking to get a test ride on the 09 VFR800, but the main honda dealer here (n.ireland) says they have none, and prob won't for a long time due to the new vfr1200.?

This sounds strange, and I assume if he knew he was getting a sale he would be able to source one.

Do you know if dealers in england have any demos?

I can get the ferry/fly over and if It's as good as I've been led to believe, I may even b&b and buy the bike there.

Anyone know anywhere close to any ports/airports that I could try?

Honda dealer in Ayr have demos, could either ferry to Stranraer and get the train up, or fly to Prestwick and get a bus/taxi to Ayr.

The dealership is literally a three minute walk from Ayr town centre.

Trust me, it really isnt as good as people say.

If you think it's going to be a beter version of your CBR600F(do you still have that?) then your gravely mistaken.

It's heavy bulky and not as comfortable as you'd think.

I was dribbling over one a few months back. Much nicer looking than the 1200 that's coming.

Probably a stupid question but have they removed the awful VTEC system?

I think they have, but there's a lot more techno wizardry included - combined ABS brakes, semi auto/fully auto gearbox, fancy shaft drive contraption...

I'd have a nice VFR750 if I were in the market...they were as complicated as I like a bike to get.

There are plenty of VFR750's and the first 800 (non-vtec) around, and they are generally pretty well looked after. Not mine though Very Happy
