Even the BBC seem to be arriving to the conclusion that man made global warming is a myth.

Funny how it completely slipped through all of the major news reports though? ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Absolutely, what are they going to do, throw money at the ozone to appease the C02 god?

If climate change wasn't happening (it is, but it's not down to us) and the government admited it was a natural process, then they'd only find something else to tax us on, or "save" us from.
Personally I think it's good that we are using more renewables as it's stopping us being so reliant on oil. But the goverment would only tax the arse out of the new fuel anyway. ____________________ My Flickr |

One of the highly ironic things is that if you're going to believe in climate change, then greenpeace and the like got us into this mess. If they hadn't resisted nuclear power the world over then there would be a lot less coal being used to generate power.
But no, policymakers the world over have been lobied by them for the last 30 years, hence not enough nuke.
Renewables are a joke. The energy used to make wind turbines, transport them to site, erect them, and service them, is a huge proportion of their output. Wave and tidal show promise and make the most sense for the UK, so we're spending all the (development) money on wind turbines.
The environmental lobby has far too much power. They have also done an excellent job of demonising the big energy lobby. Bastards.
One fun little side note. One of the anti climate change groups, probably greenpeace but it could be any bunch of hippies, protested outside my office the other night. They lose credibility when they leave all of their banner and other crap on the street outside afterwards, along with a suspiciously high number of empty packet of king size rizla. |
