Posted: 09:42 - 15 Oct 2009 Post subject: The ten best ways to ANGER a biker... |
|
|
Hiya,
I'm writing Ghostbikes e-newsletter this month and, because I know everyone hates spam, I wanted to make my newsletter something lively and funny - just interesting biking ideas, good stories and maybe links to blogs and communities like this one.
I've met some cool people on here and I know you all have your pet hates - in fact you're very opinionated and rightly so.
This month I thought it would be cool to write on the subject of ANGRY bikers and I wanted to hear two things:
Are you an angry biker?
If you are what makes you mad? Early mornings? Over cooked steak? People who have really decent biking gear but can't ride?
I have no idea...I'm a female wimp and my pet hates are commuting in Preston traffic everyday and accidentally burning toast, which I have done every single morning this week. I'm not the most ferocious of characters...
I'm a proper novice in the biking world and I'd love your guys help with genuine and funny ideas because I keep reading things on these boards that make me PROPER laugh.
'Brake for cattle, aim for ramblers' is my current favourite biking slogan. Nice one.
I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say...although I am, naturally, a little scared... ____________________ Visit GhostBikes.com today for Motorcycle Helmets and Motorcycle Accessories |

Car drivers who fail to appreciate what a lovely bike I've got. Is a quick 'Mmm.. nice bike..' look too much to ask as I usurp their spot in the traffic queue..? Philistines.
That, and being asked to remove my head at petrol stations. ____________________ A Guide To Powerbands |

* Tailgaters.
* Those who get angry behind me when I stop at a 'KEEP CLEAR' or bicycle part of a road before traffic lights - they want me to break the law and effectively run that crossing (it's in the Highway Code)? Morons.
* Very slow riders filtering in front of me on bigger bikes who won't move out of the way after many miles, despite lots of safe opportunities to do so.
* On dual carriageways/motorways - drivers who change lanes without signalling or checking their mirrors/blind spot first. ESPECIALLY when I'm filtering and they change lanes when traffic in both is doing 2mph, like it will achieve something...
* Mr and Mrs iPod crossing a busy road without a care in the world.
Can't think of any more at the moment. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

All the gear (and more often than not a shiney new 08/09 bike) and no idea how to ride.
I know a couple of lads who get a new sports 600, keep it for afew months/weeks then their mate gets something new and so must they. I have a strong suspicion i could ride rings around them all on a 500...
I think its a bit of jelosy at being able to afford all these new bikes and i am riled by opporsite attitude to myself. Ie instead of buying a decent bike and spending time being able to push its limits safely (ish), they think they will get be able to ride quicker by buying the latest machine, when infact they probably spend more time worrying about damaging it than riding hard... ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

i think cars that block you in to stop you filtering in traffic is my all time top annoyance.
other than that..
tailgaters and people that wait til you've caught up then decide thats the perfect moment to clean their windows. that said the lemony smell can be quite nice ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy
