How do

Was just wondering what are the consequences of using a race can on a road bike, if you get caught by the police?

Are we talking a 60 quid fine or points etc?

Cheers

Very Happy

probably about £60.

but riding full power on a restricted licence = riding not in accordance with your licence. i.e. you're riding without a licence, therefore no insurance.

could end up with the bike crushed and close encounter with 'big bubba'.

it is subjective though.. could jsut end up with a load of points and a big fine. depends what mood the judge is in

Deary me, thats nasty.

One last question if they pull you and ask if its restricted, and you say yes but they dont believe you. They dino it dont they?

So does the dino take place straight away or in a couple of days when they can slot you in, in which time it will be perfectly restricted? Laughing

Cheers for answers

If a copper sees you accelarating hard/doing 100+ he will know its not restricted.

Or he may ask for written proof of restriction which will show the date of when the restriction was carried out.

Only 'safe' way to do it is to pay for the restriction kit from Fi international first, have it fitted at your LBS then remove it.

You still gotta be careful not show to much power though.

i heard that its quiet a rare case that they will take you to a dyno because they need to find one that will take you then they need to take you and the bike to dyno place as well so in all its to much hassle. just dont over do it if you thinks theres a cop around and you should be fine

To be honest it totally depends on the police officer in question, he might not even notice, he might shaft you for all he's worth.

Why not keep the revs low in built up areas, or actually put a baffle in the can, the latter being the most sensible idea.

Would you get done for no insurance, or does that mean that pottentialy you're not covered if involved in an accident? Crucial difference.

nah it is no insurance because its like if you drive without a licence at 15 and not 16 then its the same thing you won't be covered

when i flipped my gsxr and pulverised my foot, i hobbled to the bike, picked it up and scattered my restrictors on the floor. Then the paramedics told me enough was enough... And manhandled me back into the ambulance to get my foot reattached

4 months later, i get the 'all clear' letter from the police, regardless of the 5+ witnesses all giving the same statement of what they saw Laughing

no questions about restrictions.

I did also get pulled once and asked if my bike was restricted. I said it should be, he agreed and nothing more was said.
