Goldfren brake pads

I was thinking of buying front and rear brake pads for my bike in the next couple months.

I have been having a look on e-bay to get an idea of cost etc. and there seems to be allot of Goldfren pads being sold fairly cheaply. Has anyone used these before and what do you think of them?
Is there any brands or web sites you recommend for purchasing these items? If it makes any differance I ride a 1995 GSXR-750.

In addition I am new to riding, although I have owned a Honda CB50 a couple years back for about 6 months or so, I did not do much mechanical with it and my knowledge of bikes is pretty poor, although I am not totally inept with a spanner.
Would changing the pads myself be something someone with my experience/knowledge could take on without much danger of messing it up?

Brake pads are easy to change if there are disk.

There are plenty of websites out there that can help.

I would personly buy pads my budget can afford on my scooter i can either pay £10 or £20 i buy the £20 as they work better when they are hot

I've got goldfren on the front at the mo, they've been on about a month. No probs yet and they stop me pretty well. If they fall apart in the future i'll give em a slagging on here

i've got 3rd hand info that they have awful wet performance and really bad fade.

could be ok for a fair weather road bike but not for an allrounder or fast rider.

but then i have heard differing opinions as well.

from my point of view considering the difference in price compared to the ebc hh pads are less than a tenner id (and do) get the ebc's. its a name i trust.

i do have some gold frens sitting at home and may try them on my road bike when i need new ones but ebc's only on the track bike

mine are fitted to my SR125, it's not quick but it slows my fat arse to a stop fairly well and i'm about 16-17 stone. I've not experienced brake fade yet but warp factor 9 is not on my bike at the mo. But I reckon for general road use they'll be fine.
