i know somebody who builds tattoo guns and it seems like there is a fairly good return on it if you can get to grips with it, but does anybody know what sort of place in the scheme of things is tattoo machine gun making as maybe a part time money maker, would it get you fairly regular income, or do tattoo guns rarely trade hands?

im wondering how long do they last, how often do they require repairs etc... im guessing tattoo machine gun making is difficult to come across as a college course etc and im kind of out of work at the moment so i figured if i could pay the guy, or just bring a nice bag of baccy ( the expensive kind), GV Wink payed for by the taxpayer of course... ... sry about that... to teach me to make tattoo guns could it potentially put me on my feet or would it be a welcome addition to my job seekers or what? can anybody fill me in? are there any experts in the field or any artisan researchers...

im not expecting to be moving out and buying a castle on the profits but i mean at the very least i could disable the crappy ones i make and flog them to me mates for a few quid to ease the burden of the cost of materials... and it would be something to do, i like doing technical things and i think itd be nice to do on those nights where eastenders begins to look appealing. a hobby as it were

Smile and also, would it put the other guy badly out of pocket given that he mainly sells from his tattoo shop and id be looking to sell to basically anyone who looked half decent and had some sort of card or, well just anyone who wanted one really. through possibly a website and internet advertisement etc. sorry, im waffling now, but really any answers would be appreciated, as i mentioned im not looking to get rich on this. thanks in advance

Pro or cheap one? People who buy tat guns for personal use just buy the cheap Chinese stuff on eBAy, I'd say it's a no go!

If you can build as good as Mick and at 1/3 of the price you have a chance.

At a guess I'd say the tattoo gun manufacturing market is pretty much sorted.

I've never heard a tattooist moan about the quality or price of their guns.

Unless of course you're going to prison then you could make DIY guns in exchange for ciggies, chocolate, beer and sex.

I'll start making them if I can get all of the above in exchange but not if it is only one of those things. What do I need?

So, whilst soaking up the extortionate tax I pay every month, you ALSO want advice on how to spread a lot of shitly made tattoo guns into a market that is absolutely fine as it is.

Bearing in mind that your "mate" wouldnt tell you how to do it, or you didnt have the balls to ask, sort of pre-empts that you KNOW he wouldn't particularly appreciate the competition...

Total bullshit idea tbh. Maybe you could start telling people their fortunes for a decent profit? Smile

if u had any clue ..the first no no, ....GUN.,,,, in the wrong hands kill people, so do tattoo machines,if your mate was any good he'd already no about it, and as for micky sharps, yeah hes good but hes out dated matey, im an artist with 8 years exp. and there are a lot better builders, but sharps is a good starting point for anyone to aim for,,,,but id say stop, no more shit needed in the market ......leave it to the pro's. not miami ink wannabees who cant draw so see the machine building as a way in, u need to be able to tattoo to build machines, end of

I hope that your customers do the spelling on any work you do rather than leaving it up to you Mr. Green

You seem to be in a bad mood, have you been inking a fat bloke's bum or is grumpiness your general state of mind?
Would it be possible to share your website with us please?
