Ebay Chain and Sprockets?

Hi.

I have found a DID chain and sprocket set on ebay, but I've heard of fake brake pads being sold, so does the same thing happen to chain and sprockets?

This is the ones I'm looking at.

Maybe they're cheap because it's a DID chain but cheap sprockets?

Are cheap sprockets fine or are they a no-no?

Also, is there any reason for a gold chain apart from bling?

This is for a ZZR600E.

The DID set on wemoto is £120.

I've just got a DID chain and sprocket set for my ZZR600.

These are the DID 50VX chain - Made in Japan. They come
in a big DID C & S box with Powerite sprockets - Made in Taiwan.

I ordered them Tuesday midnight and they arrived this Thursday
lunchtime by Citylink courier.

They cost £74 (I opted for free p+p). Payment by PayPal.

Will be fitting them this w/e all being well.

They also do the DID Gold for £89.

I remember a post a few months ago, someone on here bought one of these, and it wasn't a DID ring, and apparently was aload of cack.

I belive it may have evn been a Triple S chain, and if that is what it is, you might aswell use some old string, or maybe some socks tied round the sprocket, they will probably last longer!

If the price seems to good to be true, it probably is! Chains and sprockets don't seem to get huge discounts anywhere, so if it's overly cheap I'd be suspiscious.

As with brakes etc on a bike, a chain is very important, and a failing one - very dangerous, so I'd rather spend a decent amount to start for piece of mind!

This was quite a few years ago (getting on for a decade). Dealer I know landed up doing a chain for someone on a VFR750 which landed up lasting a few weeks, and they changed it for a new chain. Their comment was that there were a few fakes around at the time.

Not sure what spec the 50VX chain is. Appears to be a budget X ring chain.

Personally I would be fairly happy that it is unlikely to be a fake, but I would also wonder why it is so cheap and if they have it in stock.

Hmm. The parent company of BikespeedUK is C & J Wilson (Uphall) Ltd. This company owns Edinburgh Kawasaki.

Does anyone here believe this company would sell fake DID chains?

Keith, they do have them in stock. I got one delivered 36 hours
after placing my order.
