I have a set of plastic brush guards and they are total pap!! they snap as soon as the bike hits the deck .... so I want some that will take a fall ... these seem a fair price ... but only if they are strong enough to actually work!! ... hence only willing to buy if someone has successfully tried them!!

They look like exact 'copies' of the Acerbis ones i have on my DRZ SM. They seem extremely strong and fairly easy to mount (they come with different sized thingy me bobs for different sized bars)

If i had seen them on the Gay of E then i would of got them, £30 compared to about £65...no contest

Oh yeah, as you may find this useful, mine survived with just a few deep-ish scratches after taking a tumble on gravel. Infact, that was the only mark on the bike

Look the same as my Acerbis ones.
Have saved my fingers many times .... most recently when I hit a tree at about 10mph ... fast enough to whip the bars round and send me into a bush.
But I can still wank .. which is the important thing.

I still need to get myself some hand guards. Im poor at the mo though, I did just buy a second hand pair of alpinestars tech 8's though, should stop me fecking up my road boots next time we're out

My plastic ones on the 690 are fine and have taken some pretty heft knocks - however the 690 motocross ones that I had been sold for the 200 were, as you might expect, useless at an enduro track and were both broken by ten minutes into the first lap.

I'm inclined to say just spend the dosh and go for a set of Ego barkbusters like I have. I'm learning a lot lately that you really do get what you pay for.

Mine have saved my hands and my bike numerous times and have paid for themselves already, despite nearly snapping my wrist, but I'm sure that would have happened with any handguard including plastic ones.

E-mail this guy, I got my fitting kit from him for less than half retail price.. he might have some kits left for normal sized bars.

The plastic bits are about £35.

Not the cheapest but they won't let you down.

Went for some ZETA ones in the end ... for no other reason than the bike shop had them, so I could pick them off the shelf and fit them there and then ....

It actually worked out reasonably expensive ... but they do have replaceable plastic bits, so WHEN I break the plastic bits I can just put new ones one ... the all-in-one jobs would need full replacement ....

I like the zeta handguards, you need to buy the metal straight bar and then apply the plastic brush guard afterwards.

Acerbis is like 70 quid for an alloy build with a plastic cover and as you said, once it breaks you have to replace the whole unit... which sucks.

A mate of mine got one for £20, but I haven't found another pair since!

Did you get the one's with the incidators in ? They look quiet funky.

Now that its winter time when I leave work at 5.30 its dark, so ideally I should get hold of some indicators. As its probally hard to see my hand signals in the dark with my black jacket and black gloves
