help with fitting car door . it won't shut

yesterday I fitted a new passenger door on the misses rover metro . I got the door on but the things won't shut . its catching on the back end where it locks . how can I adjust it it seriously is about 3mm out also it needs lifting up a tiny little bit .

so yeah how do I adjust it ! thanks

Is the door fitting ok around the edges? If so adjust the position of the slam plate.

I have two possible solutions.

A. Kick it shut.

B. In the unlikely event that A doesn't work. Kick it harder.

Slightly tap the mounts on the door up a few mm before rebolting back into the car mounting?

You do not need doors for the Mot but will fail if any fitted do not close.
Just take it off and bung it away.

Dont know if its the same ,but on a beetle the bottom hinge mount usally becomes a pain after a few years and causes the door to drop down and in when you open it. So new hinges and door bolts wont do bugger all.... new mount point need, or lots of epoxy shite to force it out !
Hold the door just slightly open and see if it drops away.

If the hinges are bolted one:
Adjust them, it's fairly straight forward IF you know WTF you are doing

If they are welded on:
Tough titty.
