Win 7 Drivers

None of the major hardware manufacturers have release drivers for windows 7 yet so is it ok to use vista 64bit ones?

e.g. mobo chipset and wireless card.

And when win 7 drivers come out, it's not going to fcuk it up when I install them?

Another quick question. My HD 500gb is partitions. One part is 350gb with XP on it and got 50gb free. Other is 120gb with win 7 on it. Now I want to slowly migrate over to windows 7 once everything starts working. If I copy as much as I can to win 7 partition, then use partition magic to make xp partition smaller and win 7 partition bigger and repeat till all my stuff is over then delete the xp partition will this work fine? Will it be like I have installed win 7 on a fresh HD?

I just want it nice a clean with all my music and films over on win 7. I am not planning on buying another HD to temporarily transfer stuff onto then fresh installing win 7 but will this be better option?

You can use the Vista drivers or in some cases the XP drivers as well. The beauty of Windows 7!

When I did a straight upgrade from Vista to 7 (no format reinstall, just insert disc and upgrade OS) everything was functioning better after the upgrade seemingly using the same drivers.

if you do find vista drivers that wont install ("wrong OS" message and the like) right click the setup.exe and run in compatability mode for vista sp2

why not create a partition for strictly the OS. and a separate partition for your programs + files etc?
i currently have 4 partitions
win7
XP performance edition
kubuntu
Files/Programs

that way if your OS becomes corrupt you can just wipe the OS without losing all your stuff

edit: win7 should be able to use vista drivers. there is a tool in win7 that helps you find compatibe drivers much more effectively than older versions of windows.
