Saw this on bike pics today, personally think its brilliant ...

Dear Lord,
Watch over me and my family of motorcycles as we go into the streets.
Protect us from the four wheeled demons.
Make us seen so we will not have our life taken by someone not paying attention.
Keep us from harm.
Let it be known "we are coming".
Watch over us as we wheelie down the streets and motorways.
Forgive us for the laws that we break for it is fun that we do so and not to harm anyone.

AMEN

Badly written and ever so slightly reminiscent of the vomit inducing sentimentality of the ''but you didn't see me'' poem. Please for the sake of my dinner staying down no one post that.

The only thing that keeps us out of harm is ourselves.

Less praying, more training.

"the Lord" has nothing to do with it.

Tbh, any thoughts of a higher power looking over you and protecting you is an illusion which can affect you realising your own mortality, which is a pretty important part of staying alive.

I await the lynching. Laughing

At St Annes meet, Blackpool last Monday the 'God Squad' were there. There was a 'rock' band and some people giving out cds which had a blessing for you bike on it. I seem to have inadvertantly left my cd in a bin somewhere.

It is me who looks after my bike, not anyone else.

There's only one person going to keep you safe on the roads, and that's you.

And anything that encourages riders to break the law, but excuse it away because "we're bikers" does us no favours at all.

I remember last year when I was leaving the Brighton bike run there was a guy with an old school bike and a leather & tassel jacket with

"Christian Bikers Association" or something.

He had an electronic scrolling thing with a message that read...

"Don't ride faster than your angel can fly"

Thought it was quite neat.

I found this really interesting poem. It's really good

saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk..
But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But, you didn't see me, riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you, stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me, cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me, leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you, go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me. Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,
A person with friends and a family.

Succinct Thumbs Up If religion just got to the point like that I might just take it up.

In light of that would you consider being BCF's resident clergy? The very reverand mistergixer of the church of the latter-day bikers has a nice ring to it Smile

I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me cloning your credit card.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk..
But, you didn't see me, mugging Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me pissing in the soup out in the kitchens. Pity.

I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But, you didn't see me, kick out your offside rear light.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But, you didn't see me take pictures of them for an Ebay auction.

I saw you, stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me getting a full Brazillian.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me selling drugs for the money to buy them.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me blubbing when I got them done. That flaming skull one really hurt.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me loft a minger off the lights.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me key your people carrier for being a whinging old cunt.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me cheering you on.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's tits when she told me to take the next turn to a motel.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, because I stayed at home that day. Do I look stupid? It was pissing down.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right at the same time and run the same light. And I still beat you, ya dithering fuckstick.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me brake, cross lanes behind you and zip up the other side and take your mirror off, you inconsiderate bastard.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me. I'd stopped for a piss.

I saw you, go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me. Because that piss took ages - I must have had five or six pints that lunchtime.

I was just a biker, a person with friends and a family who all think the biker poem is a load of old shite.
