I have an Optimate 4. Well worth the money and solidly built. The wires are pretty thick and durable. Came with clip connectors and a harness for permanent attachment to the battery.

+ 1 - Optimate 4 Thumbs Up

Mine works great ... comes with ever type of connector you will need.
The wire from the battery is super long ans so you can route the connector to anywhere. It also has a decent waterproof cap which is secure.
Mine pops out just underneath the rear seat .... so after a hoon, I ride bike into garage ... take key out and connect the lead from the optimate (which is mounted on the wall) and walk away Thumbs Up #
Easy ... and has lots of flashing pretty lights .. which keeps me amused.

The only problem with Optimates is that they hold the battery voltage at too high a level and cause the plates to sulphate. This eventually kills the battery. As far as the affordable chargers are concerned, it's one of the better ones but a decent float battery charger would be a better bet.

Something like this:

Float Charger

That float charger looks very similar to the Bikeit halfords 2-4A charger that I've got. It does a good job of conditioning the battery in the winter. I got it off ebay for 20 quid.

i have one of these, https://www.acumen-electronics.co.uk/product/DUO_Platinum_Charger_20119
and find it works well enough for my purposes of keeping the KTM able to start.
