I've not touched a drop in years. To be honest I never really appreciated the taste when I did drink so it wasn't difficult to stop.

It's quite easy. I'm a student (we drink alcohol like fish drink water) and yet when ever I've had so much in the last couple of weeks that you start craving it while sober (addiction approaching!) I tend to run out of money.

Normally I can prioritise eating over drinking alcohol... except that week without food close to last Christmas party... ah good times.

In conclusion: budget well. Kicking this will save you money

I drink very very rarely. Like once every 2 months or so.

I tend to find it gets in the way of things I like doing, and as when I do drink it is to get drunk (ie really drunk) I end up with 2 day hangovers

Meh, I rarely drink. Once every couple of months sees me have the odd pint.

To be honest I've never been majorly into it, and I think the enjoyment of the evening is more down to the people you're around than the amount of alcohol consumed.

I don't drink at home, only if I'm out, not driving, and can be arsed.

FWIW Marjay doesn't drink at all IIRC.

Ive been drinking everyday pretty much for the last couple of years at least. Not to a big excess, maybe 2 or 3 bottles or cans per night. Its almost habitual. On fridays and Saturdays beer has to be involved or Im not interested.

I dont have many hobbies, I hate my job and I like to relax. Unfortunately a habitual drink of a night has become part of that.

Last two weeks I have really cut back, I went 4 days without having a drink (probably the longest in about 3 or 4 years).

If you're drinking to get off your face thats different. My only reason to stop is that Im not 20 anymore and its putting beef on me.

Start drinking Tea? When I come home from work or wherever, the only thing I look foward to is a cup of tea, or several. The only time alcohol enters my mind is if it's a hot day and I know i'm going to be home all afternoon/night and so a pint of cider or two is nice, otherwise there is just no appeal, and getting drunk is of no interest to me either. I'm not an addictive person in any way though so it may be more difficult for others to just not bother with booze.

So yeah, get yourself hooked on tea instead, and no i'm not addicted to tea, I just need to get my fluid intake from something and it's just a nice tasting source, sometimes alternate to coffee or fruit tea.

I drink to get stuff outta my head, or go for a good rag on the bike. I tend to find bouncing the bike off the limiter in the first few gears and then realising your speeding towards death at 100+mph makes you forget your other problems quite quickly.

I drink like a fish, more so than most people. I tend to find that after enough drink, I go into an autopilot mode and do some random funny sh*t and usually find out the following day like when I tried to steal a traffic cone but the taxi driver made me put it down before I got in.

I don't drink at all. Never really enjoyed it and the smell always put me off.

If someone offers me a drink I just say, no thanks.

As soon as your friends know you don't drink it becomes really easy.

I enjoy a beer or two or a glass of wine but I don't drink very often, once or twice a week at most. I play darts on a Monday but I usually drive, so I'm not drinking then. Over the weekend I had the kids, so I had a beer on Saturday night and then another one watching the GP on Sunday but that was it.

I'm capable of downing more than a few when the mood takes me but as I am on a fitness kick at the moment, it;s easier not to drink.

If you're looking to replace the drinking with something else, try exercise, the endorphins are good and it's a healthier choice than another drug or habit.
