I've got a problem with Outlook 2000 on a works XP machine. When I launch Outlook the memory usage climbs steadily from around 350mb to when the page file tops out at ~2gb. The process list shows Outlook as using around 20mb and no other processes using anywhere near the amount of memory that is being taken up. If I close the Outlook process the PF usage does drop back down to normal.
Outlook doesn't load normally fully in this time, it sticks on the splash screen then opens up but doesn't display messages and is locked.
I've tried killing anti-virus and anti-spam and that hasn't made a difference.
CPU usage is normal, jumps a little as the process starts then hovers at <10%.
Any ideas?

Are your email accounts pop or imap?

Only reason i ask, if you have loads of imap accounts that are held on the server they refresh when you connect and it can cause outlook to hang.

Outlook really does kill my comp at times due to i have many imaps with lots of emails
