Why do people insist on using them? What do they get out of it?
I can imagine some fat 12 year old behind the screen "owning" me while chuckling and shoving his face full of chocolate.. Pisses me off!
It's so blatantly obvious too... A consistent 5:1 score in deathmatch, and all headshots even with the sniper rifles? Come on...

Ask Joe. Until I heard him admit to the crime I imagined all users of aimbots to be sub-normal teenagers who had become so frustrated at being crap they turned to hacks.

I think some of them genuinely get a kick out of thinking others think they're l33t. The sad fact is that even genuinely good players are immediately assumed to be cheats. I've been accused of it more times than I can count.

I don't know if anyone is familiar with gungame in counterstrike.
Basically it's a race, everyone starts at level 1, usually the worst pistol. You work your way up to smg, rifles, sniper rifles, genade, and finally knife. Only one winner.
It's frustrating to know that you would've won if 4 of the people weren't blatantly cheating...
I saw a guy today get a score of 70:15, and he still lost cause he was too crap to be able to pull off the final 2 kills (grenade and knife)

Years ago in the early days of counterstrike when l was a young lad l used speedhack/aimbot/wall/skin hacks just got bored with playing standard so cheated for a laugh pissing americans off.

would,nt cheat theses days if l still played on-line, older and wiser.

Never cheated, though been accused so many times, even get accused of wallhacking/aimbot on xbox/ps3 which is just obsured.

I've banned a few cheaters from COD servers, punk buster was good as you could take a "punkbuster" screenshot which would show hacks and get them banned globally. Cunts!

Counterstrike is from what I've seen still the most competetive shooter with the highest level of skill, and BY FAR the longest learning curve. I played COD4 at a mate's house and got a decent score considering it was my first time. Like 2:3 or something.
You won't see a first timer get anything above 1:5 in a decent CS 1.6 server...

If you find a good server with plenty of admins it's ok. I only play on 3 servers. One gungame, one cs_italy and one de_dust2
I know these never have any cheaters in them so it's enjoyable. Mind you it can take forever to find a good server if it isn't recommended to you...

ahh this takes me back

when i was a kid (ok well 10 yrs ago or so) and HL1 was about i used to play DM a hell of a lot (AGDM - adrenaline gamer - fast placed dm mod). big league stuff, clanbase UK champs that kind of thing.

i used to love jumping into public svrs and getting accused of every cheat under the sun

counterstrike was even funnier. a bunch of CS players challenged a group of us to a CS game with the usual 'dm is shit blah blah' (tbh its what valve believed ) so we agreed.

thing is, after playing AG for years we're used to picking people out of the sky with xbows whilst they're tauing/flying across the screen at silly speeds. they knew the maps, but couldnt touch our reaction speed/aim

another memorable time was when one of the guys i knew was really into SoF2, i liked SoF but the 2nd one just didnt do it for me. anyway, he convinced me to join him in a svr. i grabbed a sniper rifle and just ran around double tapping. 5 people seen, 5 headshots, 5 kills, 1 kick and ban from svr

gotta laugh

dont play anything anymore would probably get my ass whooped if i joined an old AGDM svr.

play a bit of CoD now and again and i keep being moaned at to play L4D but i just cant sit at my pc for any length of time anymore.

ok that was my little nostalgic session, that'll keep me going til next yr
