So, both involve being less likely to be picked up by Police, the first seems illegal-ish, but easy enough to try and talk out of....the second, not so much.

So, number one, if I was able to get a bird to...defecate....on my numberplate...say by leaving it near a tree, but also 'accidentally' covering some important letters. (accidentally meaning putting it under a bird table/busy tree when bike is not being used). How likely am I to be in trouble with the old po-po? I could just say it happened where it was last parked? and I am on the way home where I will clean it?

Second.....running foreign numberplates.

So, does anyone do this? Unless your VIN was checked, I don't see what could go wrong with it? If you gave a bit of an 'accent' if pulled, and memorised an adress and cover story. A Polish plate I'm guessing would be best? No tickets from cameras? No ANPR readings?......but.....if you got caught.....theres alot trouble?

Just some ideas for discussion.....

The bird shit story would be plausible as long as the rest of the bike is also covered in shit. Laughing Even then, you'll just get pulled and told to clean your plate. It'd need some big bird shits to cover several letters on your plate. Laughing

Foreign plates sounds like it'd be too much hassle, you'd have to have your story worked out properly. More trouble than it's worth IMO.

Removing your plate is a better option I reckon.

If you remove your plates you'll just get pulled straight away anyway? How long would tou get away with foreign plates? Maybe a fake wallet stored under the seat with a clubcard or something with your name as Strywalski or something on it? Laughing

Birdshit I'm tempted to do. Even if it means I get pulled, it may save me from one speed trap somewhere? My exhaust is loud but not noticeably 'unstandard' and everything else is legal.

or number three....

don't be an arse on the road where the police patrol, and stay taxed, MOT'd and insured, and you'll never get pulled... Ever.

I am taxed tested and insured.

I have 6 points from my van driving days, and live in a town that has a mobile speed van that finds a new crazy place to park every other day.

I usually see him, or am travelling at legal speeds when I see him, but one day, I might not, and if something I do might help me, then I might consider it.

The foreign plate, I'll admit, I probably don't have the balls to do, it was just an idea....now the bird shat.....I am tempted.

You'd get pulled just as quickly for having no plate as you would for your plate being unreadable. Having no plate you'd be able to argue that it was there when you set off, having an unreadable plate they can say that you should have cleaned it being setting off.

If it'd help you get away with being caught speeding depends on if it's a scamera van taking pictures or if its pc plod and his merry highway men lasering people and then pulling them over further up the road.

Wrong, I would say - I've done that and been 'pulled' (okay, my brake light was out, think I'd knocked the wire when I put a lock under the seat.)
There was some posts about the MCN 'protest' ride a while ago, protesting about the police people 'pulling' bikers for no reason at all.

They very rarely seem to have police up the road these days Ste.

If you are pulled with a polish plate and obviously English, I can see them checking the frame number with the DVLA, presuming they can.
Wonder if TPO on other bikes covers you to ride an actually-foreign bike.
In spain, English vehicles still have to be MOT'd and Taxed... of course the Spanish police generally don't know if you printed them off yourself the other day!

You can get done for unsecure load with that.

Apparently, when lorry drivers get pulled for forgetting to put the plate on the trailer it's best to say they forgot to put it on rather than say it fell off for this reason.

come to think of it actually, i got pulled for looking at a police car Rolling Eyes

Then i got pulled for 60 in a 40.... on a CG Shocked

Fair enough, i'd just rip the plate off tbh, just carry it in your jacket with a snapped bolt and tell them someone clipped you and it snapped off.

tis what i did.

But someone did actually clip me and it snapped off...

I knew a portugese courier who had a black K75 on portugese plates when he was pulled one day the cops noticed it had a calibrated speedo and worked out it was an ex Northumbria Police unmarked bike he had re-registered to avoid points.
They were unamused but coulden't do much as he took the bike home once a year.

Theres a blade near me on Polish plates with a mph speedo. Very Happy

Just because its not a english plate does not mean you won't get pulled.....
In fact i may increase your chances, as they will wonder why a non english plate is running around all the time.
And if you think that they won't rumble you fake accent etc, then think again.
Rather than a talking at the roadside, it will be a trip to the station till they find out who you are. Then you won't simply be walking away with a slap on the wrist, but as much as they can throw at you....

You must not have a high number of Polish in your area, theres quite a large amount of Polish numberplates around here, I can't imagine they are all driving and getting stopped everyday.

Just keep the speed down on the dual carriage ways, and in the 30 limits. You'll be fine.

Then go stupid fast on the country roads if you so wish.

It's the bloody dual carrigeways in Stevenage that annoy me. It's a dualcarrige way, with crash barriers and everything.....with a bloody 40 limit Laughing

We do, but they tend to drive on UK plates.

As a aside in over 30 years of riding/driving i have never been pulled over.
Only once have i had a ride in a police car and that was from a lovely WPC giving me a lift home from the hospital after writing a X7 off under a wagon.

I got caught doing a fairly silly speed on a 40mph dual carriageway, i'd add not in an unsafe way either.

The bird poo one might work but after so many days it'll go so hard and crusty that it might not wash when they ask how long its been on for.

I've got a mate with a VMAX that has it on Gibraltar plates, and it has been for years. Just like the story about about the kwak really.

He has been pulled a couple of times but has never had any issues.

I know, but you also know where the coppers love to sit. I don't understand why it's not like MK with 70 limits on it all.
