Help a newbie?

Hello everyone, getting my first proper bike tomorrow, and I'm wondering what tools I should have to address some common issues (if there are any?). The bike is a Suzuki GZ125 Marauder if it helps.

Ideally if you could recommend a set to stay in the garage and a set to go out with me, that would be great.

Hi.

You should find a tool kit somewhere around the bike (under the seat perhaps ) that'll be adequate for out and about. For in the garage at home? To start off, a cheap socket set will probably do the job. I found myself buying them as I went along to begin with as you never really know what you'll need.

Things I've found useful are mole-grips, adjustable spanners and those screwdrivers with interchangable heads plus if you have no centre stand, a couple of cheap Aldi/lidl axle stands and assorted bits of strong wood/metal to keep the bike upright if you need to take a wheel off.

Halfords professional range is pretty good price and quality. Lifetime no quibble guarantee too (used it once).
Socket set to start with, multi bit screwdriver things are good, mole grips too, don't forget an extensive collection of hammers are very useful too

Not sure if they still do it but I got an excellent multi-bit screw driver set from Wilkinson's and it was very cheap.

Been using it for over a year now without any issues.
