What gear do you wear on your 125?

Thought i'd bring this up, as many people see wearing leathers on a 125 as stupid and daft, whilst others think it's sensible and good to have the protection.

I've been riding about 7 months and I wear some Buffalo leathers, the full suit, just about everywhere. Whilst i have a Weise textile jacket and trousers which i wear in wet weather. I've got a pair of Coyote racing boots and Akito Blast all year round leather gloves.

Personally, i'd rather be safe than sorry, as i do a 140 mile journey (70 miles there, 70 back) almost every other weekend, which involves busy A roads, dual carriageways and plenty of roundabouts. Always feel safer in the leathers.

I was wondering what do you guys wear on your 125?

Do you think it's stupid wearing full leathers, especially on a 125?

Had I not been wearing a leather jacker, gloves, and kevlar lined jeans the other week, I would have come off a lot worse when I crashed
As it was I had a grazed knee, not road rash, friction from the kevlar lol. The jacket had a badly scuffed shoulder, gloves were slightly scuffed, and my helmet was scraped to buggery.

So yes, I'm all for wearing the gear even on a 125, hell even a 50 for that matter, you'll only regret it when you fall at any speed if you don't

Either 2 pairs of pants or a pair of jeans for a ride out and a textile jacket along with leather gloves and a decent pair of boots (my uncle paid £150 for them a few years back). Otherwise if I'm going somewhere (i.e college) I'll wear normal clothes (mostly jeans tho), boots and the leather gloves.

i wear kevlar jeans every day to school just because i came off once at 40mph and my knees were stuck to the road.

Textiles in wet, textile jacket and kevlar jeans in dry. Always boots as I quite enjoy walking.
You can mock those who get on their 125 without proper gear when they come off. 70mph isn't exactly slow when your arse is dragging along the floor.

I just haven't got around to buy some proper gear yet. I don't see why wearing leathers on a 125 should be laughed at. Coming off at 70 is still going to hurt no matter what CC your bike is.

1+ for all the gear. If i see a 125 without proper gear, its either a chav or a city worker who thinks there vespa rip-off is cool.

I wear proper gear all the time. If i need to change ill take some clothes in a bag.

As for going to college i use to in full gear.

I wear a textile jacket and trousers with boots and gloves all the time. Some fella who rides a chinese scooter found it funny I wore proper boots on a bike, I'll be laughing when he falls off at 40 (if he ever makes it there)....c*nt

Just about everyone wears proper gear, except for the jeans, which i used to wear all the time, but i saved up for my leathers, and got some textile trousers.

All i started off with was the textile jacket and gloves (helmet of course) and the gloves were some cheap £10 pair, meant to be 100% waterproof but that was bollocks.

I agree with Muzza, ThatHornet and Honda_Rider, you're all right. Those that laugh at full protective gear on a 125 are the ones that will be in stitches when they come off, literally. I can remember one time when i was in all my leathers, i had 3 twats behind me, all on RS50's and 1 came alongside me swaying in and out, as if he was trying to barge me off the road, whilst his other 2 mates blast past me with their legs over the front fairing looking all laid back. I was in a 40 zone, and was keeping to the limit (been pulled over once and learnt my lesson) it was intimidating, but i fought my temptation to speed up and just let them fuck off. All were wearing trackies tucked into their socks and 2 were in T-shirts whilst the other was in a hoody. Obviously trainers too.

That just showed how dumb and pathetic some people are. Those dickheads are the ones that deserve a nasty accident so they get a grip on reality.

When i go to college, i always wear my leather jacket and gloves, never worn protective bottoms, i just wear my jeans and shoes. Starting to consider even wearing full gear to college, despite it being 15 minutes away, traffic is mayhem and the most amount of incidences ever encountered in my whole 7 months of riding, have been on the college route.

When i first wore my leathers, i thought the wait of them for a 125 would weigh it down and take some speed off how stupid of me

I usually forgo the leather bottoms in favour of jeans ( or if I'm going into work normal trousers ) when I go out on the 100. Not because I think it will hurt any less if I do come off but because I believe most accidents are avoidable and I ride like a granny on the little bike anyway. Textiles all over if its chucking it down though.

As an aside I had to move the bike from in front of work the other day and being a one way street I had to go right round the block. Didn't even bother putting a helmet on and it was an amazing feeling.

I have, textile jacket and trousers, leather jacket and trousers, kevlar jeans, pair of tall boots and a pair of shorter Nitro mb's and gloves. Wear whichever protective clothing appropriate to the weather, wont ride the bike without proper gear as it dont matter what you ride, when you come off its gonna leave a mark so the more I can protect myself the better. Plus as I'm an oldie I dont bounce to well anymore

if i am on my Honda CG125 or gfs Yamaha TW125 i always where the same gear.

my G-Mac speed helmet which will be replaced once test is passed as want flip lip.

Jacket is my GTH Classic Hi Viz textile as got fed up with hi viz vests flapping around in wind

Trousers are Hein gerkle all season with no lining in so fit over work trousers

boots are now Crane ones from ebay but proper motorbike boots

gloves hein gerkle all season textile ones again also got 2 or 3 spare £10 pairs for winter riding as backups.

all gear was from ebay apart from my £10 gloves as they came from local shop. Can get some good gear cheap so no excuse not to wear it

Well my CG is definitely fast enough to still kill me so really I make no compromises.

However, In town you'll usually catch me wearing anything from just my helmet, to helmet, gloves and thin leather jacket.

As soon as I leave town it's my incredibly thick and armoured buffalo textile jacket and trousers and racing boots (they seem to have more protection on them).

Of course, luck would have it that the only time I've come off of my bike so far (went flying at near 50MPH) I was wearing everything except only jeans protecting my legs. Still, I got up and walked, not a scratch or a bruise

I have a choice of two helmets; full face and motocross, I have a leather jacket, leather gloves and walking boots. Until I can get myself some proper leather or textile trousers im wearing jeans.

There is no way im not bothering without protective gear. As was mentioned before, only stupid people think its stupid.

full leathers on my 125! i know somebody who cme off on thier 125, slid down the road for a good few meters but she was ok due to her leathers.

Should of seen the damage to her leathers! would of had no skin left if she was in jeans.
