Hi guys,

After owning a speedfight 100 some years ago i decided to go back to my biking ways, got pretty sick of sitting in traffic.

So tonight i went and bought a gilera runner vx125 54 reg with 13081 on the clock, (about 9000miles i think), i payed £1000 for it.

Ive always liked the runners and found there is no better looking scooter, havent riden one yet so not too sure what to expect, just wanna get her insured.

let me know what you think

Not entirely sure why you didn't go for a 'normal' bike instead of a scooter, a grand will get you something geared with lower mileage. Each to their own though Smile

Looks... scootery

Good looking bikes runners are.

Suprised you ever went back to biking having owned a speedfight!

I owned a speedfight 50 for a year and it was a nightmare.

Good luck Thumbs Up

Scooters can be more satisfying through traffic than a geared bike.

I had a VX125 years ago and it had a sola alarm fitted. Best thing I ever did was remove it. Used to flatten the battery pretty quick, go off all the time and was always difficult to silence. Just get a big chain as they are popular bikes with thieves.

Quad light thingys look crap and are pretty useless at night so stick with the standard front light.

Good little scooter for getting about in town but its pretty useless on any NSL roads. Should get about 200km out of a tank round town if I remember rightly.

It will probably be slower than the Speedfight 100, but it wont sound as pants.

Get a propper alarm, the cheap shitty ones sound like a gay mans programmed them with cheap shitty sounds, and they're horrible to use. If you know a mech in the trade you can get propper alarms at a decent price and get it wired by a pro.
Use ya noggin, it will save your bike in the long run, increase resale put your insurance down (not by much) and gives you a huge peice of mind, i love Meta 375's i think they're called. Alarm immob and easy to wire up.
