Downloaded a torrent of that film MOON.

Torrent finished, file size roughly 700,000kb and says it's an avi.

When I use VLC media player to open it, it has a 4sec long clip saying "Please use windows media player".

When I use Windows media player it says "the file is of a different type than the extension (.Avi), then the same clip shows up and my browser opens at this page -> https://cinedump.com/watch/id34hd/
and asks me to fill in a Tesco survey or similar to unlock the page.

I did fill in a survey, and it unlocked the page, and I clicked the link.

This brought me to a dodgy page which would allow me to download VLC media player.

This is obviously an effed up scammy thing, but is there any way I can watch this film at all?

I've been looking for Moon for a while, can only find spanish rips.

Are you sure it's an AVI? Was it zipped or rar split when you downloaded it?

Have you turned hiding file extensions off? This behaviour doesn't sound like an avi to me but rather a WMV. Either way never follow links from blagged stuff.

I'd seriously doubt you have downloaded the film at all, seems more likely to be malware bait.

It's probably not the film at all. If VLC doesn't open it, it's very likely a fake. Use a site like ISO hunt and get a copy thats got positive comments rather than thousands of seeds.
Better still get a scene release. Thye have strict quality and compatability standards so you never get fucked about.

As DaFrostyOne states its more than like will be a fake. God knows why people bother faking a file because they have to waste their bandwidth and time to get it seeded! Just keep looking. In time one will come around
