 |
|
Just to inform everyone, as of last Thursday, I found out that roads hurt, even when you are only doing the 30mph speed limit.
No pictures of bike yet due to it still being held by the police, being released to us tomorrow I believe.
Car pulled out in front of me, braked so hard the passenger in the back hit the front windscreen, happened to be a loaned car too being driven by someone that wasn't "really" insured for it, only had permission of the person who was loaned it.
The front end went out from underneath me and I just remember seeing a car moving at 30mph towards me. .

Taken in hospital.
Two broken femurs.
Broken right ankle.
4 Spinal fractures.
Fractured rib.
Broken face. .
Bruised lung, liver and kidneys.
Soft tissue damage, bruises etc.
Been operated on, can hobble on crutches for small amounts of time, I am stuck at home for a month or two.
Just do me a favour people, keep it rubber side down and watch out for the crazy people, cheers. xxx.
An update:
Improving, my neckbrace is off as the neck has healed, rib has healed too I believe and now I am just waiting for my legs to heal, BUT... I managed to pick up some X-Rays, before and after operation, here's the booty, sorry about the long post!

Sorry to hear about your neckbeard paul. I jest.
Hope you mend soon, and jump straight back on the bike once you and it are healthy. (Just imagine how hairy your face will be after two months of XBox, BCF and cheesy wotsits).
Get well soon bud. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

That's a good list. Talk about doing things properly.
How did you hurt your face with the helmet on? |

My helmet hit the floor as the front end went from braking, slid along the floor, hit the car, I then bounced off and smashed my way up a nearby kerb.
I was also wearing glasses as well which broke in my helmet I believe and did some extra damage all up in there.
It's only one portion of my face, left cheekbone style area.
After I hit the car and bounced off I just then preceded to rebound like a ragdoll over the road up over a kerb which did the spinal damage and facial fractures I believe besides the initial impact.
Yes, I do not do things by halves. ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

Bloody hell those injuries sound extremely painful. Just minutes ago on my commute home, some woman decided to change lane in to me, so on the horn I go but she just keeps looking straight forward, so I move over into the next lane (3 lane dual carriageway) narrowly avoiding her. The roads are full of maniacs. Wishing you a speedy recovery. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

Hope you recover quickly I'm interested to know what gear you were wearing at the time? I think twice about wearing less for "just 30" in the future. ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.
G: With my GSXR I do often effectively use it as a scooter with a clutch in town.
ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston? |

Being in a spinal/neck brace for the next 5 weeks or so .
I suppose what actually hurts the most is the femurs, even though they are pinned walking on them + the actual muscular effort of hobbling etc is extreme, akin to rock climbing in terms of power required.
As for next steed, probably get another older Thundercat and find a track steed just for that, the track, less solid things on there.
As for whoever said about the drugs, all I have used is Paracetamol and that was in hospital, no morphine or anything apart from the Fentanyl required to smack me out prior to the operation.
Also, at Flip, contacts would have been better, but just used glasses as that was what I was wearing so just used glasses instead, keep to the contacts. .
As for gear, I was wearing an Arai Helmet, RST Fusion Jacket + RST Leather Gloves. I was also wearing jeans and skateboarding shoes (Etnie's.) No burns at all from friction, jeans were fine.
I think I would have saved myself a broken ankle with proper boots and that's about it, minor details I think? ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."
