Right-e-o people.

How much is a warranty worth?

Basically I've seen a nice bike in a dealer, 2005, 7310 miles with a years warranty. Here

Seen the same bike private, 2006, 5500 miles. Here

Both are the same price (well a fiver difference).

Just using these as an example, (I may not even go for one of these) which would you go for?

I do about 10k mile a year, so I want something reliable, hence the attraction of the warranty, but a younger fresher bike will have had less wear and tear.

Any help?

Hi

Can't say that such a small mileage difference would bother me.

Possibly the age would slightly, but not much by much.

Down side of a dealer bike is that they have more experience at making it look good so things don't show.

However I think with 2 bikes the same price, roughly the same mileage and close in age I would go for the one with a warrenty.

If the private one was 10%~20% cheaper then I would probably have that instead.

All the best

Keith

Have a good look at them both, and buy depending on condition?

Pictures can be very deceptive. I went to look at a VW Polo that looked mint in the photos, but was a complete sack of shit in actuality. And I did a 60 mile round trip just to take one look and tell the bloke that no way in hell was i buying it!

Tbh, I'd go for the dealer bike. I prefer the colour scheme, and it also has crash bungs and an akropovic can, which means you don't spend money doing those mods yourself.

I dont get the dealer "Extra" bit......

The bike has clearly got a non std end can and crash bungs....

Yet the dealer only mentions "One Owner from new"....
Which kinda makes you worry a bit about what they know agout bikes.

I would ask the dealer what the warranty covers, get a copy to look at and read the small print. What would they knock off the price for not having it. As often these are worth nothing and cover nothing., as they have a cash price limit which can easily be exceded by the simpliest of things.

To be honest i prefer the look of the std can, much better and less likly to damage.

The 06 is the better looking one but if you want reliabilty you should opt for the one with warranty imo.

iooi made a valid point about reading the small print though. Is it a full suzuki warranty or just the dealers warranty...theyre not the same thing.
