Hello folks,
I'm Charlotte, I've decided to join the forum to talk about bikes n stuff on the recommendation of a friend. I'm about three days away from applying for my provisional licence (roll on pay day) and I'm desperate to get going on 2 wheels. Please bear with me if I ask dumb questions, I'm probably just having a transient blonde moment, but hey, someone's gotta ask the stupid stuff and I don't mind being that woman.

then probably go for a 125 and some experience. I suspect if I get anything more powerful at this moment in time I'll be pavement jam before I know it. I don't mind riding round on something smaller, as long as it's not a fucking hairdryer like all the chavs round here seem to ride. Mad

I'm not in a huge rush actually. I have a car I need to tart up to sell (anyone want a Golf with leaking suspension? no? thought not) before I can buy a bike, though I might be able to sell it to my mum as she's running her car without MOT atm ( Rolling Eyes

). As long as I get a bike before my brother does I'm happy.

Sounds like a plan, cant beat a good 125 for some experience in the saddle I think, depending on what you fancy now is the right time of year for buying a bike as there will be some bargans around, check ebay for some protective gear, textiles with removable winter linings is a good place to start with the obvious lid, gloves and boots.

Ok, here's the first stupid question. I've just been looking at the application form for the driving licence. I already have a full driving licence for cars and many other things with four wheels. I don't have category A on the licence.

Do I apply for a first provisional licence (with a view to passing a test) or do I just apply to exchange my licence to add provisional motorcycle entitlement? I'm suspecting the latter, but my brain's not firing today.
