Hi All.

Thanks to BCF for this facility. I'm starting at 46. I have read the rules and I don't want to offend. ("Thou shalt not ask silly questions" and "Thou shalt not waste time-use the search engine")
I have a very elementary question about CBT. I searched CBT and got 6000+ hits, so I'm gonna ask it and hope I don't get my arse kicked.....
If everybody HAS to do CBT and you "CAN" hire a bike to do it, then I presume you "CAN' do it on your own bike. So how do you get there on your own bike if you are not legal to use it?
.....Ok. kick my arse. At least, I hope you agree that I'm literate.

Hi

No legal reason you cannot do your CBT on your own bike.

However there are no exemptions from having a CBT for riding to a CBT on your own bike, so you would need another way to get it there.

Also you might struggle to find insurance that will cover you to ride your own bike while you are doing your CBT.

It would be far simpler just to use the school's bike for your CBT. You can start using your own for your lessons then.

So, to use my own bike, I'd need to trailer it there and it probably wouldn't be insured?
I guess it's use theirs then.

Nothing wrong with us oldies mate, 46 starting on bikes again here. Use their bike for the cbt for the sake of £100, I did as its a pain to get your own delivered to them and if you ride it your not insured without the cbt. I think they ask to see your insurance before taking you out on the road as well if on your own bike
