 |
|
I'm currently looking to sell my Clio for some money to process onto a bike. I've done some research and would probably get £2300(give or take) for it. I've passed my Theory although it expires next August and my CBT was done last Friday.
After speaking to the instructor about the best possible route to take (currently 20 - 21 next Aug). Apparently the restricted route would be the best possible solution as according to him (and certain bikes) it only takes about 10-15% of the bikes top speed. Is it that little of difference??
I've been to a few biking shops and I'm starting to buy leathers (keeping the winter in mind) and pretty much picked my Helmet etc.
My instructor said my restricted would be around 160 per day; with the test at the end averaging over 3/4 days. So; £560 - which could be paid with the selling of the car..
Thanks.
Adam. |

if your 21 or over i strongly suggest you do your DAS instead of restricted A2 licence
2 years of needing restrictors will piss you off to save £100

Sounds like you are on to a good plan!
Im not bothered about the restriction either, its only 2 years after all and it will be like getting a new bike when the restriction is removed!! Being 21 I did have the choice of the A2 or DAS, but I went for A2 so I can gain experience at 33bhp and then will unrestrict it in 2 years Probably not what the majority would do, but its working for me!
Good luck! |

Thats my plan to do the A2, giving myself till next year on the 125 for the experience, then A2 for the bigger bike, when restriction ends by then I will be really ready for what will be my ultimate bike. I intend to buy a brand new 800cc or more which gives me 2.5-3 years to save up for it. Being an oldie I have the patience to wait ____________________ Previously Known As A5tra_G

I found there was a lot of cross over questions and videos between the car and motorbike theory test. But obviously there were some questions just for the motorbike lol |

If I was in your position, I would probably ride around on 'L' plates on a 125cc until next August getting a decent amount of experience and then sell it on when you are 21 and then take your DAS.
This restriction period is bogus in my opinion. . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

You probably won't need many lessons, especially if you can already drive a car. Just ask a friend with a bike if they can take you to a car park for a bit of practice.
As for restriction, just don't bother. It's bullshit anyway. ____________________ Bandit 600 |
