Oops, CB down,

Ok this is my 1st spill of the year, and actually for a year dead on, since I almost totalled myself and the GT.

Going out to town to pick up my mate on Saturday night, I decieded to deviate from my usual route to another one for some random reason.

Coming upto the last corner in a 40limit, before the traffic lights I noticed that it was a bit wet and decided to slow down and take it at 30-35, so went out, pulled back in to apex the corner and then bike just totally fell out from undernieth me. Leaving me to go knee down across the road, watching the bike spin round, spaking everywhere and then slam backwards into a brick wall, the only damage to the bike was, bent bars, hole in generator case, and broken indy.

I think the damage would have been alot more sevre if I hadn't had my mates helmet strapped to the back of the bike, which it landed on, flatening the top, then the chin bar, almost right the way through, to the polystyrene.

The big problem is that it isn't even my bike (yet) it's my dads, which he did threaten to kill me for.

Just be glad you are okay, that's all that matters. Bikes can be replaced.

Well, he didn't exactly kill me but his face, pretty much did. I must say it is quite a scarey thing telling a 6'4 mauler that you just broke his bike but he was ok with it eventually, even let me knick my old bars off the CB125, and put them on. But still need a generator case, unless someone can tell me if cast alu, is weldable.

I was in the right gear, and even went slower throught the corner than I normally would. All I can say is that my gear is probably what let me walk away.

it's always hard guaging corner speed for wet conditions on someone else's bike...!

Bah, i'm not easily offended. The bike is fine(ish) the only thing that I know need is a new jacket, the old arm is getting a bit chilly now. Had that thing 6years, and had to many offs wearing it to be true, such a good jacket and will be sadly missed but just a heads up, the jacket was a Buffalo one.

Cast ally is weldable but it's not easy to get the holes lined up and a flat mating surface. I came off by bike in the middle of rural Wales once and by pure fluke found someone that welded up my alternator case which was in about 6 parts. The gods must have been with me that day.
